Sauteed Mushrooms in Garlic

I used chicken broth instead of wine and ended up with ALOT of liquid left but this was still so good I was eating it out of the pan.

Easy No-Boil Macaroni and Cheese

I started to make this one day & realized that I didn't have enough bananas to make 1 batch let alone the 2 batches I was doing - it was STILL great. I added in 1/4 cup sugar to the double batch & it made the crust crispy until the next day.

Meatloaf

Mine had so much liquid in it that it was more like a casserole. I'm going to try again with a friend's help because I think it's mostly the high altitude that caused it to come out that way.

Pigs in a Blanket

Mine always seem to stick to the cookie sheet, so I spray it with non-stick spray or line it with aluminum foil. Only 3 stars because not all of us like cheese with it.

Slow Cooked Corned Beef for Sandwiches

I LOVE corned beef & I've made this twice now. I've found that 1 dark beer or 2 light beers work best, and the 1/4 cup peppercorns is WAY too much. I added in cut potatoes, cut onions, and baby carrots for the last 1 hour of cooking.

Grilled Corn on the Cob

When we left the husks on, the corn tasted like wet mush. I tried it a second time but removed the husks and unded up with delicious corn on the cob. This also works in the oven at 250 F for about 20-30 min. Just place a pan under the corn to catch the dripping butter.

Amish Friendship Bread Starter

Awesome starting point. I made this in baggies instead (& good thing I did. We took an emergency 18 hr trip on day 6-10. Not possible with a casserole dish.) and "mushed" them every day. I did try this with Splenda (straight splenda, not a baking mix) & used the bread 1 recipe on this site. The splenda bag would balloon up within minutes, but not have any more air until the next day you add ingrediants. It also smelled a lot more sour than the suger mix. This was controlled (same flour, milk, & yeast in both) so I would expect the same disappointing results every time. May work with Splenda + sugar baking mix.

Amish Friendship Bread I

I absolutely hated this recipe. It was very dry for me, and I had added a pudding-pack of vanilla pudding to help with the tatste. It may have been better with less flour - or maybe I was just expecting more of a cake than bread.

Slow Cooker Tipsy Chicken

Although the sauce did taste good, it was completely bland. I doubled the mushrooms and added in almost a whole, fresh garlic bulb, but it still tasted like there wasn't any flavor to either the chicken or sauce. We ate this over mashed potatoes, which made it act like chicken gravy. I might make this again, but it deffinately needs more seasonings.

Puppy Chow

My husband loves this stuff and asks me to make it atleast once a month. I usually make a huge batch due to how many live in our household (between 6 and 8). I changed the recipe to 60 servings (equal to 12.8 oz cereal) & used an entire 12 oz bag of chocolate, but kept the powered sugar & PB the same. I also used a small pot to heat the choco/PB mix but only added half of the cereal into the pot. I split the mix between 2 gallon baggies, split the plain cereal between the 2, closed the baggies, & shook them up to coat the cereal. I repeated this for the sugar, & except for the baggies looking like a mottled mess, it worked perfectly. A great idea for those who handwash their dishes.
