About this Cook
I can't think of anything to say about myself! Does that mean I am totally boring? (chuckle) I am a housewife, mother, grandmother and personal slave to a teacup Chihuahua. Of course, I enjoy cooking...hate cleaning the mess though. Avid player of World of Warcraft game. Like crocheting baby items and making quilts.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy trying Chinese and Mexican dishes. Being Southern, I love their delicacies too. I think my most favorite thing though is baking... anything! Breads, meats, cakes, name it!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I guess it would have to be dirty rice and potato salad for every holiday or event. It is just not a special dinner without those two dishes sitting on the table.
My cooking triumphs
It would be when I was told on very short notice to make a pound cake for a church dinner. I pulled together apples (grated), cinnamon and brown sugar along with the normal ingredients for pound cake into a delightful treat.
My cooking tragedies
Oh wow...hands down it has to be the time I forgot about the pressure cooker. In my younger days the pressure cookers were much different and apt to blow up. Yep, it blew the lid off and I had beef stringing from the ceiling, covering the walls, floor and of course my stove.

Kickin' Collard Greens
This Southern Belle gives this recipe a 5 star rating. I used frozen collard greens and have to admit this recipe is delicious. Highly recommend it! Fixed as stated.

Baked Potato
I must add my 2 cents worth. I also microwave my potato for 10 to 12 mins. While it is baking I have a pot of water boiling in which I place the baked potato in for another 5 to 10 mins. Fluffy and it taste like a baked potato.
