My favorite things to cook
I enjoy cooking everything. I really like experimenting with "foreign" cousines. The African Peanut soup is delicious. Who would have thought peanuts in soup?
My favorite family cooking traditions
When I was 6 my mother bought me a "Garfield" childrens cook book. I was so proud of my "Nermal" strips. Everyone loved them, and I made them all the time. (a piece of toast with butter, cinnamin and sugar) You can't beat that!
My cooking triumphs
Any time I make a dish from scratch that I love. Not only do I have the satisfaction of knowing that I made something tasty, I also know what was put in the ingredients, and the health content of what I made. I love the satisfaction of knowing my meal is better tasting, more nutritious and that I paid much less than what the average person pays for that nutrient deprived take out meal that so many people rely on for a daily basis.
My cooking tragedies
Oh wow, tons!
I once submitted chilli to my works chilli cookoff. I got last place!
I once made two loaves of bread; one for me and one for my neighbor. I gave my neighbor lady one loaf and later that day I cut into my bread and it was doughy, under cooked and just plain awful! Lesson learned - ALWAYS sample before you give something away. yikes!
