Cream Cheese Coffee Cake II

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2011
I made this. reduce lemon juice to 1tblsp, used the 8oz cream cheese and 4-5 tabls sugar and a couple cap fuls of vanilla, had to compensate when i used the 2 tbls of lemon juice . put nuts in bottom i used brown sugar and it kinda stuck a littlwe and the cake caved when i turned it out which is was my error needed maybe 2-3 more minutes but my oven is wierd also.and a new used one i got for 40$the desighners were idiots becuase the grates on stove are slanted and offer only a centered flat dspot and then slant away so off center pans slip off .the designers were failrly reduced in basicdesign standards and mandatory grate features. like level.but hey 40 and i needed it. i either undercookd it or ? it was good though, ver y good taste.I am beginning to make another one right now.tah yahhad to substitute oz craem mit 1tblslemon juice dis time.

Carrot Pineapple Cake I

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2012
this is guten und easy recipe, I like raisins en nuts en mine so i added 1 cup raisoins softened in hot water, and nuts which are so expensive now, used a 20oz can of pineapple and chopped up the chunks,on the icing I used 2 8oz cream cheese 1/3/4 cups sugar had to use blender to make a sub for powdered zugar, also vanilla in it.so i like dis wun.oh und also added nutmeg and ginger ground. also use coconut oil (virgin cold pressed not refined or processed. it gives a wonderful flavor and is quite a good nutrient source.I use it in my chocolate fresh or frozen cherry upside down cake and it gives such a flavor to the chocolate i sent it to the state tasters and they said they didnt do tastings.I said then what do you do? they said they smell instead of taste,I said soemthing smells fishy at tasters office.

Carib Black Bean Soup

this is close to mine, you can eliminate the balsamic vinegar, soy and sherry(sherry does add a nice touch butdont make an extra trip to store if sherryless)a dollop of sour cream is mandatory.

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2009
I recommend all starting cake makers to use this as a standard cake desert reciope it is so easy and almost foolproof using a mix just never let cake sit and cool before upsy downzing it,let sit no longer than 5 minutes. your loved ones will think you are a graet baker with this recipe when we all know different.

this is the closest to my way of doing it,and my way to make this soup is the best way of course, you dont need to add any salt.fresh biscuits or a good grainy corn bread is a must.

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies I

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2011
This is a good start for a basic oatmeal dough, but I eliminate the white sugar all together and use brown sugar, raisins are good anmd so are dates chopped, coconut dried crancherries walnuts are a must and butterscotch bits or peanut butter pieces ,toffee reeces or , add quantities as preferred, i like them as my sweet tooth needs to be caterted to,i call thezxe type cookies health n trail food and feel virtue when i eat them.I also add a bit of nutmerg and and a pinchy pinch or ground ginger.

Cream Cheese Squares

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
The main redeeming feature of this recipe is its simplicity. After making it twice i prolly will not make it again, i even added walnuts and frozen cherries thawed to the filling after it ws spread. they are just ok and not a substitute for a good cream cheese type coffe cake or cheese cake.entenmanns is better coffe cake and on sale at 2.50 is better baragian all a round.

Pineapple Upside-Down Cake VII

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2009
I recomend the iron skillet method it is so much easier and less dishes and they do bake better than other materials, also cornbread does it good as well.I use a yellow mixmelt butter ainskillet over very low heat while getting batter treadyt sprinkle brown sugar over ther melted not hot butter still melted thoughtI never bothered with the chertries , but wonder if walnuts would be good in this cake?I am using fresh opineapple in the one i am making after this review of recipes,so we shall see, u will use not from concentrate dole pineapple juice as the liquid replaceing water entirely. what abot a little rum in this cake? ui was thinking of putting it in with the butter abd hoping alchohol would burn off and most rum would evapoarte just leaving the flavor as my husband is an alchoholic and needs this rum boost as he been dry for 12 years.
