Sarah's Rice Pilaf

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2014
This is amazing. Full of flavor, and oh! So easy. I doubled everything, but when it came to the broth, I measured 2 cans of Campbell's (the ONLY one to use!) chicken broth and the rest water to get the right amount of broth. I also added 1 bouillon cube to the water. Perfect! Thanks for sharing.

Tabbouleh

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2014
Very similar to the recipe I grew up eating. Learned to make it from a Lebanese uncle. We use a little more oil and lemon, but the difference in the bulgur. I use 2c. Cover it with water and soak it for 20 min. Drain. The extra oil and lemon make up for the extra liquid. It's best to make it the day before you'll use it, or at least several hours, because the bulgur is still hard immediately after. Why not soften it with the dressing and not the water?

Used 1 pkg. of regular and 1 pkg. hot chili seasonings. Also used Rotel w/ habanero. Gives it a good bite! Will make again.

Mediterranean Meat Pies (Sfeeha)

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2011
Perfect! I too, had the ultimate Lebabese cook, my uncle Tofee who made these from scratch. This filling is identical to his. I have cheated over the years and used GRANDS! biscuits, separated each one horzintally, and pressed into a muffin tin. I then scoop 1/4 c. of the mixture in to each and bake acc't to buscuit label. I LOVE to idea of puff pastry. Nice variation.

Macaroni Meatball Soup

Sounds like my favorite "comfort food" from my childhood. The only difference was that my mom cooked and broke up about 1 lb. of ground beef before following the rest of the recipe-- I can't wait to try it!

Absolutely Fabulous Greek/House Dressing

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2008
I can't get enough of this dressing! I did, like others, use equal amounts of oil and vinegar, but I also tried something that everyone seems to love. Make the dressing exactly as in the recipe, but don't add the vinegar. Let it set a while, and it makes fantastic dipping oil for toasted Italian bread with your next pasta meal. When you're ready for salad dressing, combine equal portions of oil mixture and vinegar. YUM!!
