Fruit Pizza I

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2012
Made this tonight after my son told me his class was having a pizza party tomorrow which also includes dessert pizza. Since he has allergies, we have to make almost everything from scratch. This was easy; not time-consuming, and well worth every minute! The flavor of the crust is just perfect - I don't like it when the crust is too sweet. I ended up baking it for the full 10 minutes. The cream cheese and sugar layer is also just the right amount of both. I then topped part of the pizza with sauteed green apples (1/2 stick butter plus loads of cinnamon in a skillet with two green apples. This only covers about 1/4 of the pizza). And the remaining pizza was topped with a Trader Joe's mixture of frozen strawberries, blackberries and blueberries. Good stuff! Wouldn't change a thing about the recipe.

Flax and Sunflower Seed Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2011
This is a great bread. We make this every other week or so for our kids who have allergies to food dyes and preservatives and can't have standard bakery or store bought bread. I use Sunbutter, about 3T instead of sunflower seeds. We love how dense and heavy the bread is! Very filling, and really tasty!

Classic Pancakes

It was ok, but a little too sweet for us. I used regular whole milk and added a little vanilla though.

Peanut Butter and Jelly Oatmeal Pancakes

Reviewed: May 5, 2011
My kids love oatmeal, peanut butter and pancakes. So this recipe was a great find! I made it as directed, except I used whole milk and may have added more like 1/4 cup peanut butter. I let the batter sit for five minutes to allow the oatmeal to absorb the liquids before I cooked them on the griddle. My kids LOVED them! We made them for dinner, then had leftovers and made another batch in the morning. Super recipe, and I like that it is packed full of protein and nutrients from the oatmeal, milk and eggs too.

Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2010
As others suggested, I made these using 1/3C white sugar, 1/3C brown sugar and 1/3C confectioners sugar. I kept all else the same. GREAT taste, melt-in-your-mouth goodness! I also sprinkled some white sugar on them before baking. They could use another few minutes in the oven though - at 10 minutes, mine were a bit mushy in the middle. I think about 12 minutes would be perfect.

Oven Pot Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2010
Phenomenal! I was trying to figure out how to salvage a roast that I forgot to put in the slow cooker this morning. I came across this recipe and made it using a 2.5 pound chuck roast. I didn't have vermouth but I had good ol' box white wine in the fridge so I used a little over 1/2 cup. I put this in the oven at 350 degrees for two hours in my enameled cast iron pot with the lid (Martha Stewart) and it is mouthwatering! Divine!

Smokin' Scovilles Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2010
Hands-down, my favorite chili recipe ever. I've made it following the recipe (except for the beans - I leave those out), for that nice hot and spicy flavor, and also toned it down for the kids. The last time I made it, I only used half the red pepper flakes, and none of the habenero, yet it was still too spicy for my kids. Next time, I am going to leave out the red pepper flakes, and only use one can of Rotel and then two cans of regular diced tomatoes and see how that turns out. GREAT flavor!!

Marie's Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2010
Very good pot roast recipe. Ours was very tender. I did need to add more seasoning so we used Nature's Seasoning and then invited the neighbors over - it was all gone! Everyone raved about the flavor and tenderness.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2010
This is the first time I have ever made lasagna, in my 40 years and it was wonderful! Definitely a recipe I would make again. I used no-cook noodles since we already had those and it turned out terrific!

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2010
I've made this recipe twice in one week now and it's just wonderful! My kids loved it and so did I. These brownies were moist and in no need of frosting, so we didn't bother to make it.
