Kudos to Crystal for organizing the AR Gift Exchange!

I didn’t get to participate in the first Gift Exchange and am sorry I wasn’t around for it! I did get in on it this second round and boy, oh boy am I glad I did.

I had so much fun putting my recipients gift together. I put a lot of thought and heart into what I included in the gift. It is very obvious to me that my gift giver, Mis7up, did exactly the same thing. It was a very fun experience.

If another gift exchange is arranged (and I think there will be) and you are in a position to participate, I would highly recommend you join in. It has superseded my expectations.
My AR Gift Exchange wonderful gifts from Mis7up!

I just wish I had some of the photo skills most of you all have to give the gifts the justice they deserve. LOL

Trishie, I know, I know, I am horrible with the camera. It's a jar of Riverwalk Cantina Salsa, Mrs. Renfo's Green pickled tomatoes, Daddy Hinkles 2 part merinade, cookingbands and a wonderful glass mug from Fort Sills, OK. I've never had any of the food stuff before and can't wait to try it and I have always wanted to try the cookingbands. I feel like I hit the lottery!

Deborah, they are rubber bands designed specifically for cooking. They can stand temperatures up to something like 600 degrees. You use them the same way you would cooking string but with a whole lot less hassle. They are reusable and dishwasher safe. I've always wanted to try them but couldn't justify it with a giant spool of cooking string in my pantry.

I sure plan to join in the next time - wish I'd been active for the first one! I think I should start planning what to put in my package - lots of good stuff here in NM!

I am new here and am wondering if someone could explain what the gift exchange entailed, definetely sounds like fun!

Crystal collected everyones addresses that wanted to participate, randomly assigned each person someone else's name and who ever got your name sent a gift to you and you sent a gift to the person's name that you got. There was a dollar limit and it had to be sent by a certain date. Crystal did an amazing job organizing it and it was loads of fun.

I never heard of cooking bands - but I will surely keep an eye out for them. They sound really neat.

I am planning on using mine (thanks mis7up) this week. I'm thinking pork... Hmmm, maybe a tenderloin.

About Me
I've never really been a happy cooker, I prefer to eat out. When I do cook I get frazzled easily. I have cooked several of the recipes from this website and have found most delicious and the feedback very helpful. I am trying to develop an interest. I'm jealous of all of you who seem to really love to cook and are at such ease in the kitchen. UPDATE: It's been a year since I originally input the prior information. I am now much more at ease in the kitchen and rarely grumpy when cooking. This site is responsible for the new me. I am changing my cooking level today to intermediate. Everyone on AR has helped me achieve my new level and I look forward to learning and cooking more. I am going to keep working on my skills and hopefully be half as good as most of the members on this site. I love AR and the confidence and education I have received from everyone here.
My favorite things to cook
Simple but very tasty. I love chicken.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I go all out on Thanksgiving and pull out all my cooking skills for the one day. My family travels from all over the States to come. I have to admit.... I'm usually very grumpy by the time the meal is served because of my unease in the kitchen.
My cooking triumphs
Finding a wonderful chicken casserole that the entire family loves!
My cooking tragedies
I burn bread almost every time I make it! UPDATE: I'm still burning the darn bread. I don't get it...
