Pumpkin Fluff Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2013
Very nice. I followed the recipe except for using French Vanilla flavored Cool Whip and making my own pumpkin spice mix. I was probably a little heavy on the spices because I like spicy. Other than that, it is good and although good with apples, I, too, prefer it with the cinnamon graham crackers.

Butterscotch Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2013
This was good and I was asked for the recipe at a Thanksgiving gathering but I think it needs something extra to kick it up a notch. I did substitute pecans for peanuts (personal preference) and French Vanilla Cool Whip for the plain whipped topping but it still needs something. I'm thinking of adding toffee chips the next time...and maybe more butterscotch pudding or perhaps butterscotch flavoring.

Becky's Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2012
Excellent! I've been looking for a recipe like this for quite a while. I left out celery due to family preference and doiubled the grapes. Added a little dash of garlic powder. Served stuffed in croissants. Delish.

Crispy Cucumbers and Tomatoes in Dill Dressing

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2010
My hubby said he could eat an entire bowl by himself. I did a few substitutions based on what I had in the house but it was still delish. I used red wine vinegar instead of cider vinegar; olive oil instead of vegetable oil; shallots instead of onion, and dried basil instead of dill. Great refreshing salad for summer meals.

Garden Veggie Pizza Squares

Reviewed: May 10, 2010
I served these at a wedding reception this weekend. They were well received. I left off the onion and added chopped bacon and finely shredded cheddar cheese. Very tasty.

Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball

Reviewed: May 10, 2010
I made three of these for a wedding reception this weekend. I always get lots of compliments and requests for the recipe when I serve this. I rolled mine in more mini chocolate chips rather than the pecans. I served with graham crackers, 100 calorie oreo snack crackers and vanilla wafers. Excellent.

Ham Roll Ups II

Reviewed: May 10, 2010
I made 80 servings of these for a wedding reception this weekend. I exchanged the onion for Claussen kosher dill slices (cut into strips) and I added a little dry ranch dip mix for extra flavor. They were attractive and tasty!

Fruit Pizza II

Reviewed: May 10, 2010
I made 80 servings of this for a wedding reception this weekend. They were very tasty and pretty! The only change I made was to use marshmallow fluff instead of whipped topping (hoping they would be less soggy and it did help) and I didn't have time to make the glaze but they were still excellent. I topped them with strawberries, kiwi, blueberries, raspberries, and pineapple.

Brown Sugar Smokies

Reviewed: May 10, 2010
I made 120 servings of these this weekend for a wedding reception. Very popular with the guests! Just be careful, they burn easily...it's hard to get the bacon crispy without burning the brown sugar.

PBM Sandwich

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2009
Here's my take: I spread peanut butter on the bread, top with marshmallows (not the creme) and pop in the toaster oven. It gives the bread a nice crunch, makes the peanut butter gooey and gives the marshmallows a nice campfire feel. With my adjustments I give it a five. Great comfort food. Yummo!

Amy's Cilantro Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2009
I made this yesterday to go with the Southwestern Egg Rolls. Both were excellent! Beautiful fresh flavors with just a hint of heat. I can't wait to try it on other things. The only thing I changed was to use 1 tsp celery seeds and 1/4 tsp salt because I didn't have celery salt. Kudos!

Southwestern Egg Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2009
Absolutely delish! I've been wanting to try this for a couple of years and never seemed to get the chance. I used olive oil due to preference and substituted cilantro for the parsley since I had cilantro on hand for the dip (Amy's Cilantro Cream Sauce this site)and used colby jack instead of plain jack cheese. I wanted to try them deep fried and they were wonderful but I will probably bake next time just because it's healthier. Great recipe; thank you.

Spicy Sweet Potato Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2008
I really wanted to like this but I made it for Thanksgiving and most of it got thrown out. I don't know if everybody is just hung up on my standard potato salad or if it was the curry (which is the strongest flavor in the salad) but it just didn't fly. I didn't think the sweet potatoes and the curry were complimentary. I'll keep looking for a favorite sweet potato salad. Thanks anyway.

Carla's Fruit Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2008
This is excellent! It doesn't taste like cake icing at all (as someone said earlier). The cream cheese keeps it from being too sweet; it's just right! We loved it with fresh pineapple, strawberries, kiwi and yellow apples.

Twenty-Four Hour Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2008
This was gobbled up by two families over Christmas. I made it for my hubby's family on Christmas eve and they loved it. It had only had about six hours to "sit" before dinner but was still very good. We had it again the next day and it was excellent also. I made a couple of modifications due to preference. No celery, as hubby and step-son don't like it. Used real bacon instead of bacon bits. And topped with sliced boiled eggs. We loved it.

Pumpkin Roll II

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2008
I've made this twice during the holidays; once for the family Thanksgiving dinner and once for my hubby to take to the office Christmas thingy. Both times it was gobbled up. Everyone seemed to love it. I thought it was very good. I used pecans instead of walnuts because that's what I had in the house. It's not diffucult to do and makes a pretty presentation.

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2008
I made this last week for my hubby to take to an office Christmas party. It received rave reviews. Served with "Scoops" tortilla chips. I didn't get to taste it but everyone loved it and only one person said it was "hot". I'm sure when I make it for just us, I'll add more peppers to make it a little warmer. :-)

Olive Salad for Muffalettas

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2008
I guess I'm going against the flow here but something was just too overpowering in this. I think maybe it was the oregano, so I'll try it again with less. On a positive note, I took this to our Thanksgiving dinner and my sister thought it was really good.

Grilled Peaches and Cream

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2008
Just getting around to rating, but we had these on a camping trip several months ago and they were very tasty. Be sure to use good ripe peaches because the honey doesn't add much sweetness. I tend to agree with another poster who said added cinnamon sugar would be the finishing touch. But my hubby loved as is, since he is a diabetic.

Grilled Pineapple

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2008
I thought these were excellent but then I love anything with some heat. Lol. We grilled these on a camping trip several months ago and I'm just getting around to rating them. A unique twist but I thought the hot sauce gave these just the right amount of punch. Not too hot...just right. We just had them for a simple dessert, but I think they would also be great with pork or chicken. Perhaps on a grilled chicken sandwich?
