Meatball Alphabet Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2011
This is amazingly good! I didn't change a thing other than using ground chicken because that was all I had and adding a little onion to the meatballs. That was it! Otherwise the recipe is absolutely perfect just the way it is. Everyone raved over it. A very, very good recipe!

Beef Pot Pie III

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2010
Excellent recipe! I love the fact that it doesn't have any pre-made soups in it. I did alter this a bit (added onion, celery and more spices) but otherwise I didn't change a thing. I did have to bake it for 45 minutes though.

Four Cheese Macaroni

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2010
This is very good, but you almost have to double up on all the cheeses and use 2 cups of half and half to really get the creamy consistency. I enjoyed this recipe very much. Will make again. :)

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2010
OH WOW! I thought I would never find a recipe for homemade brownies that I'd actually love. These are fantastic! I took the advice of other reviewers and used 1 and 1/2 cups of both white and brown sugar, but otherwise I kept things exactly as they were. Fudgy, moist, and absolutely delicious! These are winners, for sure!

Creamy Chicken Lasagna

Reviewed: May 26, 2010
I would have given this five if I hadn't had to make any changes. I also added minced garlic, green pepper, onion, mushroom and spinach to the cheese mixture. With that simple change it was a real winner! My whole family raved!

Hot Chocolate

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2010
Awesome. I left out the egg entirely (I didn't think it would make much difference) and cooked it on the stove where I could whisk the heck out of it. Once it was strained into my cup it was absolutely brilliant. Great on a cold night. :)

Rosenmunnar

SO GOOD. I'll admit, they're not really that pretty, but that doesn't take away from the taste! I think the trick to making sure that the middle doesn't run is to use preserves rather than jam, but it really doesn't matter much. Also, this recipe only makes 3 dozen. I'm not sure HOW you could manage to get 72 out of it! The cookies would be the size of dimes. Love this recipe though! It's GREAT.

Basic Beef Stock

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2009
I must have done something wrong. I baked the bones for a solid hour, did everything the recipe said, and honestly this didn't taste very beefy at all! It tasted more like vegetable stock than beef stock. I used normal marrow/soup bones, had nice fresh vegetables, everything seemed okay. I'm not sure what I did wrong, but this recipe wasn't very good.

Quick and Easy Lemon Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2009
This recipe is GREAT. The only thing I did differently was to make my own cracker crust and to add 1 tbsp of lemon juice. It was easy and quick and set up *perfectly*. Every piece came out cleanly, even the first! And the lemon flavour is delicious and refreshing, nice and creamy. I'll make this again! Thank you!

Mini Cheesecakes III

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2009
These are GREAT. The only things I changed were to double the crust, whip my (room temperature) cream cheese completely before doing *anything* else, and to omit the lemon completely. These are delicious and tender little cakes that easily came out of the paper cups I put them in. Great recipe!

Veggie Pizza

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2009
I made this for a friend for an Easter bento lunch and it was VERY well recieved. You have to play with the spices a little (I only used half of the package of ranch dressing and garlic powder rather than garlic salt) but overall it was easy and fun and tasty! I'll definitely make again and vary up the veggies.

Creamy Chicken and Rice Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2009
This is a really good base soup. However, I'll agree with some of the other reviewers in saying that it sincerely needs spices added to it or it is BLAND. Cook the chicken in garlic, pepper and seasonsed salt in butter. Add spices to the rice mixture as its cooking. Add pepper and salt to the rue. If you do all that, when you put it together it should taste WONDERFUL. I'm not exactly sure why everyone is saying this recipe is too thick though...its a creamy soup...its supposed to be a little thicker than a normal soup. I had no problems whatsoever with it being so thick you could put it on a plate! Great recipe with a few alterations.

All American Apple Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2009
I didn't use the crust portion of this recipe, but the rest was absolutely delicious! I ,too, cooked my apples with 1 Tbls of lemon juice and 2 Tbls of cornstarch on low for 20 minutes. This cut my baking time down dramatically (only 40 minutes) and made the top crust just PERFECT. The filling was absolutely GREAT. Nice recipe.

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2008
This icing is so pretty! Everyone was so impressed with how professional the cookies looked! The only problem I had with this was the amount of milk, but once i upped the amount to 3-4 tablespoons it was great! I'll use it again!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2008
These cookies are fantastic! Even for a beginner like me it was easy to get the dough together and make the cookies! And you should have heard all the compliments I got on these! They were a big hit! My only suggestion would be to not let them sit in the fridge overnight, its not necessary at all and I actually had to warm up the dough a little to roll it. Other than that its great! [Edit] I'm not exactly sure why others are saying that the cookies turn into big blobs and lose their shape in the oven...as you can see from my photo mine kept their shape perfectly. I think the key is to make them thin enough that when they puff up they don't go wonky.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2008
Wow! With the thousands of five star ratings this recipe has I have to admit I was skeptical...but no more! These are GREAT! I added a bit of cinnammon and vanilla to the batter and substituted oil for melted butter and the muffins were FANTASTIC. They're even still moist two to three days later! Great recipe.

Blackberry Cobbler

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2008
Fantastic! I'd never made a cobbler before, but this turned out GREAT. As someone mentioned below, it is a BIG mess when you cut up the roll, but well worth it for the delicious flavour. I used three cups of berries and added on a delicious crumb topping 15 minutes into baking. The crumb topping is 1&1/2 cups of flour, 1 cup of brown sugar and 2/3rds cup of butter or margarine. Mash it up with your fingers until it makes a lovely crumb and sprinkle on top! I also didn't bake it as long (only 45 minutes) and it turned out great! Thank you!

Chocolate Mint Cake Squares

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2008
Exceptional cake! The actual cake is more like a brownie and is very moist and flavourful. I didn't have any creme de menthe so I went with 2 tbls of milk and 1/2 tsp of mint extract. Also, I only chilled the final product for about an hour before cutting them to avoid the chocolate glaze cracking. It cut clean and made a beautiful presentation. Everyone LOVED these and wanted me to make them again! Thanks!
