Slow Cooker Bolognese

Awesome recipe. Used merlot in place of the 1/2 cup milk at the end. I swear I wanted to lick the pot clean. Thank you for such an awesome recipe.

The Best Sweet and Sour Meatballs

This recipe deserves a 10 star rating. Don't hesitate to make it because it is that good. My husband snubbed his nose at me when he saw me making it, but as it was cooking he commented on how good it smelled. Well, it tasted 100 times better than it smelled. I used corn starch to thicken and did add in a little ketchup because after tasting it, I felt it would add in a little more kick. Served with rice and a garden salad. YUMMY. Even better the next day but do cut the meatballs in half so that they warm up completely for you.

Hamburger Soup

I followed the recipe provided and found that the taste was very bland. I nearly didn't want to eat the leftovers the next day. However, I ended up adding more ingredients and added crackers and hot sauce to my bowl. Hubby added crackers and some ketchup to his. This made the soup more flavorful. Don't know that I will make this again just because there are so many outstanding soups out there.

Spinach Quiche

Very good recipe. If you want to make just one quiche, use 1/4 cup or less (next time I will use 3 T because I think 1/4 is still just a tad too much). I used fresh spinach and wilted it after the onions and garlic was simmered. Fresh mushrooms are better. Only used 1 garlic clove because other family members have a sensitve tummy, havarti cheese instead of feta, and to make it very creamy and not too liquidy, use 2 full eggs and 2 egg yolks instead of all four eggs. Also using 1 cup of heavy cream made it perfect. To test if done, slide a butter knife about 1-1/2 inches from the outside rim. If it comes out clean, it's ready to be taken out of the oven. Allow it to stand for 10 minutes and then try to only eat one piece. You won't be able to stop with just one piece.

Mom's Best Waffles

This is a very good recipe. The only change I made was to add 1/2 tsp of vanilla and only because we love the flavor of vanilla. They came out light and fluffy and very tasty. I was a little surprised at some of the negative comments. If you mix all of your dry ingredients and then mix all of your wet ingredients and then incorporate them together and make sure you cook the waffles in a good hot waffle maker, you should get beautiful, tasty waffles. Much more fun that just buying a premade mix.

Sweet Lime Iced Tea

I believe this is going to be my go-to ice tea this summer. I really liked it and appreciate CookinginFL sharing it with everyone. The only changes I made was to add 8 tea bags instead of 6 and dissolved the sugar in a separate pan of 1 cup of hot water while the tea was steeping. The limes I used were on the small size and the taste was so good that the first glass disappeared in minutes.

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

Oh wow...this is one of the best recipes I have tried in a long time. I'm a southern girl and biscuit snob. The only thing I did differently is use Buttermilk instead. I did use my food processor to mix everything and the taste was out of this world. Loved the texture and the height of these babies were huge! Thank you so much for a great biscuit recipe.
