About this Cook
My favorite family cooking traditions
We get together with the girls in the family and some close friends around Christmas and make baskets filled with cookies and candy which we give to the elderly in our community. Last year we did about 25 baskets. (It's a small town.) We enjoy spending time together and teaching the next generation how to cook and about helping others. And the people who receive the baskets love it. So it's a triple blessing for us. If you are interested in doing something like this, it helps if you start buying your ingredients a few weeks early. Then by the time you get ready to bake you have what you need. Everyboby brings what they have and we pull out our recipes and make whatever we can.

New Year's Champagne Punch
We've been making a version of this recipe for years and love it! We mix a gallon of orange juice with two bottles of champage. Pour the mix into a tall glass and add a tablespoon of orange sherbert on top. We call our version Mississippi Mimosa. Enjoy!

Niki's Famous Crawfish Dip
LOVE IT!!!! BEING FROM SOUTH MISSISSIPPI I COOK WITH ALOT OF SEAFOOD. THIS DIP WAS PERFECT. I BROUGHT IT TO A PARTY AND ALMOST EVERYONE ASKED FOR THE RECIPE. I ADDED A BIT MORE OLD BAY AND MORE CRAB BOIL IN MINE. OH! THIS WOULD BE WONDERFUL OVER A BAKED POTATO!!!
