I am the happily married (28 yrs) puppy mommy of three very spoiled doxies. I also have a lovely family of German Roller canaries. I retired after 25 years as a police officer in January 2003. It took me a while to get the hang of retirement, so I went back to work as the Executive Director of a small art gallery. I retired for the second time two years ago and can't imagine how I ever had time to work. In between the gardening and spoiling my DH and the dogs I am working on the perfect cooking island. It is both a "work in progress" and a labor of love.
My favorite things to cook
Well, thanks to the many talented cooks and bakers of AR I am working on accumulating a list of favorites, but right now it is Honey-Wheat bread.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Unfortunately our cooking traditions were lost with the unexpected death of my mom. She was the center of all holiday cooking traditions. She cooked from memory so her recipes were lost.
My cooking triumphs
The Clone Cinnamon rolls. They were my first effort and they were awesome. Made me feel like a grown up baker.
My cooking tragedies
When I was about 25 and feeling bold I decided to make duck l'orange for my parents. During the preparation I decided (I remember it well) that the amount of orange in the recipe was kinda meager. So I put a whole orange in the mix, it tasted so bad that we had to throw it out and I had to take my parents out to supper.
