About this Cook
My profession is mortgage loan consultant but cooking and keeping house are my passions. My greatest loves are my daughter and granddaughter. Collecting recipes is like an addiction. If I started cooking them today, I would not make it through my collection and yet, I continue looking for new recipes.
My favorite things to cook
I love baking cakes and other desserts, especially cheesecakes. I also enjoy making a variety of soups and sauces for the freezer in the fall. Brunch is my favorite meal to plan and to prepare. Baking yeast breads is a very rewarding and relaxing pasttime for me.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My famly looks forward most of all to Thanksgiving dinner and brunch on Christmas morning. We always change the menus but keep a few favorites from year to year. My husband looks forward to Jumbo Overnight Cinnamon Rolls. I found the recipe in a special Christmas edition magazine in 1991 and have made them for him every Christmas since.
My cooking triumphs
My sister's bridal shower and my daughter's baby shower are both events I am very proud of. Both were brunches, my favorite meal to prepare. I like to think that all my family holiday meals are triumphs!
My cooking tragedies
I have done my best to forget them! The most recent is the pumpkin pie I dumped on the oven door and the floor as I was putting it in the oven. It's amazing how much filling is actually in a pie crust! You have no idea until it's running all over the kitchen!

Butter Honey Wheat Bread
Followed the recipe exactly and now have a soft, fluffy loaf of bread. I will make this again. Other than a little dough sticking to the top of my bread machine, I had no problems with the recipe.

Old Fashioned Coconut Cream Pie
Easy to make and a good pie but not the coconut flavor I was hoping for. I did use part coconut milk and the other part half and half. I added coconut extract and toasted only the coconut used for garnish. I didn't want the crunch of toasted coconut in the filling. My family thought this was a good pie. It is. Just not the recipe I am looking for.

Beef Pot Pie III
I used leftover roast so I was able to skip a step. Added some rosemary to the mix. I did have trouble getting my crust to brown enough. I would probably make this again if I have leftover beef but to me, then end result doesn't justify the trouble of starting completely from scratch. So, this won't be a ''go to" recipe for me.
