Beef Bourguignon I

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2011
Very, very good. I am about to make it for a second time because my husband raves about it. I only used one onion (again, because of my husband, lol) but I followed the rest of the recipe exactly. Much easier than I expected it to be.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
I love these cookies and have become locally semi-famous for them. As much as I love vanilla, I don't add it to this recipe. The vanilla pudding adds plenty of vanilla flavoring. Also, I wouldn't recommend using French Vanilla instant pudding. I have done so twice and didn't care for the results either time. If you take these cookies out of your house be sure to take a few copies of the recipe. Everyone will ask for it. Also, I've read some reviews stating that it is better to use an electric mixer for these cookies. I don't do that in my care. Everytime I have used an electric mixer for these cookies they become very overmixed and the cookie texture isn't there. I like mine a little less 'cakey' so I always mix by hand and will be trying this recipe with whole wheat flour next.

I made this recipe exactly as stated and my husband and I loved it. It's much easier to get him to eat fish now. Thanks for the great recipe.

Vanishing Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2010
This Christmas season I put nuts in almost everything I baked so I decided not to add them to these oatmeal cookies. Instead I used one cup of raisins and one cup of dried cranberries. I soaked them separately in hot water while I mixed up the rest of the ingeredients. The only other change I made was to use cinnamon rather than pumpkin pie spice but only because I'd also made pumpkin pie and pumpkin bread. They were great and they looked more "Christmas-y" than regular oatmeal cookies.

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2010
I've made this bread twice now and didn't change a single thing except I used two large bread pans. After years of looking for banana bread that wasn't dry, I have finally found it! I will never make another banana bread, this one is perfect!

Truck-Stop Buttermilk Pancakes

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2010
Really great pancakes. When I don't have buttermilk easily handy, I use dried buttermilk mix. It works as well and I don't have a lot of leftover buttermilk. Everyone loves these pancakes.

Marinated Grilled Shrimp

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2010
My husband and I made these and they were good. I followed the directions as stated and we were happy with the results. Probably won't make it again soon, but only because there are so many great shrimp recipes out there.

Garlic Herbed Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2010
I made this recipe exactly as stated here. It was really moist and my husband loved it. It took a little longer because the chicken breasts were very large. We'll be making this often. I think the reason 1,200 people saved this recipe and there are no custom versions is because it is perfect as is.

Raspberry Cream Cheese Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2010
I've made this coffee cake 3 times and followed the directions completely. People are always surprised when they hear that I made it and didn't buy it at a gourmet bakery. Love that. Great recipe.

Baked Pineapple

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
My family loves this. This is the second year I've made it and this time I found Hawaiian Bread. It was good with plain white bread but a bit less sweet. Next time I'll make it with a good oat bread.

Shrimp Alfredo Pasta

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
I've made this several times with angel hair pasta. It is absolutely delicious. Be sure you don't cook the pasta more than a couple of minutes if you do use angel hair. I think you could use a heavier pasta and it would be very good. I make this one at least twice a month.

Pumpkin Bars I

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
Very, very good. I didn't change the recipe at all but I did double it. I still used the 9x13 pan. It turned out to be a delicious, moist cake. I frosted it with Cream Cheese Frosting II from this site because it is less sweet than most frostings. My husband loves this recipe and asked for it again already.

Holiday Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2009
This is the best pumpkin bread I've ever made. I used 1/2 cup OJ, 1/2 cup water, and 2/3 cup of oil. I accidentally doubled the oil and had to double the recipe but the 6 loaves came out perfectly. I baked 3 with raisins and 3 without. The raisin loaves are definitely better.

Really great. Husband loved it. Great with cabbage or, as said, with chicken salad.

Texas Brownies II

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2009
I loved this recipe and so did my husband, especially with a scoop of good vanilla ice cream. I had to make a few changes because I can't find buttermilk in my town in Mexico; I used 1 cup of sour cream for the buttermilk, used 10 tbsp. of cocoa rather than 4-1/2 tbsp., used 1 cup of coffee for 1 cup of water, and added 1 large tsp. of cinnamon. I frosted with a can of frosting I had in the cupboard. They were great, very cakey and really delicious.
