Southwestern Egg Rolls

I really love this recipe. I did cut back on the jalapenos but added a tbsp. of chipotle-flavored hot sauce. After I'd mixed everything in but the cheese, I felt that something was missing. I added 3 tbsp. of chopped cilantro and it really added just the right flavor. I'd better state right now that I increased this recipe to 30 servings for a party. I also baked these at 450 for 12 minutes and served them cut in half with Amy's Cilantro Cream Sauce from this site. I will be making these again.

McCormick® Spiced Holiday Sugar Cookies

I followed the directions exactly and I added all the required spices, but they still tasted like dry toast. I wouldn't roll them out to the stated 1/8 inch. I will go back to sugar cookies.

Steff's Shepherd Pie

I loved this recipe and so did my husband. We used a can of mixed veggies, 1/2 can of mushroom soup, and 1/2 'can' of light sour cream. We did mix half the cheese into the meat mixture and the other half into the potatoes. I topped it off with smoked paprika before baking and it was perfect. My husband now plans to make lots of extra mashed potatoes on the nights he cooks. Thanks for the great 'comfort food' recipe.

Mama's Best Broiled Tomato Sandwich

I made this recipe almost exactly as stated; a little extra parmasan, a slice of monty jack under the tomatoes, Italian seasoning instead or oregano. My husband raved about it and can't wait for the next time we have this. We each could only eat one open-faced sandwiches, and we had a California carrot and raisan salad alongside the sandwiches. It was a really great light dinner.

Sandy's Special Beef Marinade

I made this recipe exactly as stated because I had everything called for in the house. We marinated 2 pretty decent steaks for 2 hours before grilling. This marinade is really great. It's a big recipe, though, so I will cut it in half next time we make it. My husband says that will be next week! Thanks for the great recipe.

Quick Yeast Rolls

These are the best rolls I've ever made. I added just a bit of extra flour, sprinkled a bit of corn meal over the tops before baking, and brushed on melted butter after baking. I halved the recipe and it made 12 2-1/2 inch balls which I baked in a 12 x 9 glass pan. Really great recipe and I can't wait to try it for cinnamon rolls.

Raisins and Rice Pudding

Wow this is great! The addition of pudding makes it very creamy. I was out of Cook n Serve Vanilla Pudding so I used instant. I doubled the recipe, used 2% milk and added a heaping tsp of nutmeg. This is my favorite rice pudding recipe and I'll just use it from now on.

I can't believe how well these turned out. I can't make bread but these came out perfectly. It took about an hour and 10 minutes but it was well worth it. I didn't change any ingredients. I was hesitant to make a full batch as the recipe stated but it fit my baking pan perfectly with 24 rolls. I'll use this recipe over and over.

Banana Sour Cream Bread

I've made this bread twice now and didn't change a single thing except I used two large bread pans. After years of looking for banana bread that wasn't dry, I have finally found it! I will never make another banana bread, this one is perfect!

Beef Bourguignon I

Very, very good. I am about to make it for a second time because my husband raves about it. I only used one onion (again, because of my husband, lol) but I followed the rest of the recipe exactly. Much easier than I expected it to be.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

I love these cookies and have become locally semi-famous for them. As much as I love vanilla, I don't add it to this recipe. The vanilla pudding adds plenty of vanilla flavoring. Also, I wouldn't recommend using French Vanilla instant pudding. I have done so twice and didn't care for the results either time. If you take these cookies out of your house be sure to take a few copies of the recipe. Everyone will ask for it. Also, I've read some reviews stating that it is better to use an electric mixer for these cookies. I don't do that in my care. Everytime I have used an electric mixer for these cookies they become very overmixed and the cookie texture isn't there. I like mine a little less 'cakey' so I always mix by hand and will be trying this recipe with whole wheat flour next.

Vanishing Oatmeal Cookies

This Christmas season I put nuts in almost everything I baked so I decided not to add them to these oatmeal cookies. Instead I used one cup of raisins and one cup of dried cranberries. I soaked them separately in hot water while I mixed up the rest of the ingeredients. The only other change I made was to use cinnamon rather than pumpkin pie spice but only because I'd also made pumpkin pie and pumpkin bread. They were great and they looked more "Christmas-y" than regular oatmeal cookies.

Truck-Stop Buttermilk Pancakes

Really great pancakes. When I don't have buttermilk easily handy, I use dried buttermilk mix. It works as well and I don't have a lot of leftover buttermilk. Everyone loves these pancakes.

Garlic Herbed Chicken

I made this recipe exactly as stated here. It was really moist and my husband loved it. It took a little longer because the chicken breasts were very large. We'll be making this often. I think the reason 1,200 people saved this recipe and there are no custom versions is because it is perfect as is.

Raspberry Cream Cheese Coffee Cake

I've made this coffee cake 3 times and followed the directions completely. People are always surprised when they hear that I made it and didn't buy it at a gourmet bakery. Love that. Great recipe.

Baked Pineapple

My family loves this. This is the second year I've made it and this time I found Hawaiian Bread. It was good with plain white bread but a bit less sweet. Next time I'll make it with a good oat bread.
