Fresh Fruit Cobbler

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2012
Easiest to melt butter in glass baking dish in preheating oven, swirl (to grease) then pour into batter. Used fresh blueberries and strawberries, only 1/2 the sugar and it was just right for me. Baked for 60 min. Worked ok in 1.5 qt baking dish by cutting back a little the fruit.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2012
These come out perfect every time. I half the recipe and use one extra large egg, simply because we don't have enough self control around these delicious cookies!

Chocolate Frosting I

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2009
Super easy and great for the One Bowl Chocolate Cake III make in 9x13" pan, single layer. Eyeball in a little extra cocoa. 1/2 the recipe is sufficient for a full cake coating. Then the whole thing can just be mixed in a 1 cup measuring cup and wisk. One bowl, one cup, and one pan for a complete frosted cake, not bad!

Blonde Brownies I

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2009
Doubled recipe and put in 9x13" pan. Used 1 cup choco chips and 2/3 cup peanutbutter chips, 1/2 mixed into batter and 1/2 on top, no nuts. Too sweet and crunchy (w/out overbaking). And probably too much vanilla. Otherwise, very easy. Will look for better recipe.

Asian Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2009
This chicken is amazing. I added 2 tbs cornstarch and simmered 1/2 lb thawed mixed frozen veggies with the sauce during the simmer time. I kept the chicken warm in the oven at 200C and then added it to the dish at the very end to avoid losing the breading. Next time I'll try sticking the breading on with some egg.

One Bowl Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2009
Moist and delicious, although a little denser than boxed cake. Used apple sauce instead of oil, cake flour, and baked in 9x13" pan for 38 minutes. Thank goodness for the "watery" note. Pulled away from butter/floured pan beautifully.

Blueberry Pound Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2009
Very tasty and fluffy, especially with a lemon sugar glaze. Substituted 1/2 cup apple sauce for 1/2 of the butter and baked in 2 loaf pans for about 1 hr.

Easy Batter Fruit Cobbler

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2009
Simple, sweet, and easy to make. Used fresh blueberries and sliced strawberries. Still too buttery, even after reducing to 3 Tbs. Will make again with even less butter and more fruit.

Chocolate Truffle Cookies

Reviewed: May 20, 2009
Followed the recipe exactly. These chocolate cookies are TOO chocolatly, if that's possible. They are very crumbly and do not hold together well at all, despite varying the cook time on each batch to compensate.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2008
Of all the homemade cookies we made and received this holiday, these were the best and most popular. They really are the perfect softness and stay soft. I used turbinado sugar instead of white sugar.

Chicken Soup III

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2008
My first attempt at homemade chicken soup and it was great! I used chicken broth instead of boulion, reduced the salt, 1/3 substitution of dried parsley for fresh, and used leeks instead of onions because my bf hates them. Like another reviewer, the chicken was falling off the bones after 2 hrs, and it took several hours for the fat to separate in the fridge, so I let the stock sit overnight. Perfect for both of us with colds!
