Buttermilk Pancakes II

These pancakes are fabulous, and also make terrific waffles! If you are patient, I do think they turn out better if you can let the batter sit awhile, and it is wonderful the next day. I feel a little sad if I don't make these on the weekend. :-)

Clone of a Cinnabon

I have made these three times now, they are by far the best cinnamon roll recipe I have found. I like to add brown sugar to the cinnamon mix...mmmmmmm

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

DEEELICIOUS! I followed some of the reccommendations, used 1/2 butter, 1/2 crisco, and 1/2 white sugar, 1/2 brown sugar. My husband is eating them as fast as they come out of the oven!

Garlic Brussels Sprouts

AMAZING! I am not a fan of brussel sprouts, and I could not get enough of these. I just used regular chicken broth and didn't add additional salt. I also followed one recommendation and sliced them in half. Couldn't get much better!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough + Cupcake = The BEST Cupcake. Ever.

I get requests for these all the time. Well worth the time and effort for special occasions. I like them best with chocolate cake, but both are delicious.

White Pizza Dip

This dip was awesome! I did add the pepperoni, and got rave reviews! People were asking if it was alfredo sauce, and that gave me an idea, so I used this recipe, left out the pepperoni and added 2 cans of crabmeat, and made crab stuffed mushrooms... they were to die for.

Cashew Avocado Chicken Salad

My husband loves this and it was super easy! I didn't add the cashews, and served it on toasted sourdough, it was terrific! Great for a lunch or quick dinner.

Sophie's Zucchini Bread

GREASE YOUR PANS!! This recipe was wonderful, except I didn't grease the pans, and destroyed the first two loaves I made because I couldn't get them out. After that, everything was perfect!

Spinach Salad with Oranges

I think this salad is amazing! The only things I did different were to add some of the bacon drippings and some of the syrup from the mandarin oranges to the dressing, it really brought out the bacon flavor! Deeeelish!

Simple Time Pork Chops

Pizza On The Grill I

I have made this recipe twice now, the first time it was pretty darn good, and the second time it was awesome! I didn't use fresh basil, just the dried, and it was quite tasty. My kids love it, and they are so fun to make. I also only let the dough rise once, and it was perfect.

Savory Pumpkin Casserole

I thought this was pretty great, but my kids were not impressed. I sauteed the onion with some garlic in the butter first, and I think this really made the dish. In fact, I will add more garlic next time. Skinning the pumpkin is a pain, and my friend who is a chef said to try cooking it right in the pumpkin halved. I may try that next time.

Cauliflower Cheese Soup II

I cooked down a ham bone with some chicken stock instead of plain water. I think this gave the soup way more flavor. I only used about half of the velveeta, and it was plenty.Also added a little garlic pepper and salt, because I add that to everything. Very easy and delicious.

Pupu Balls

I used frozen meatballs and these were great, so easy!! I cooked them in the crock pot on low for 7 hours, and they were perfect. I did use low sodium soy sauce, I think that really helped with the saltiness everyone else was commenting on.

Chocolate Chip Cheesecake Brownies

This is an excellent idea, but needs work. They are definetely better the next day. The cream cheese mixture was too eggy, and needed more sugar and maybe a bit of vanilla. It would also help to have a little more cookie dough, I ran short on the top. I did have to cook mine for a full 60 minutes, but they cooked evenly in my stone. These are worth trying again with some modifications.

Chocolate Chip Coffee Cake

This cake is delicious, but the batter is very thick and hard to work with. In the batter I substitute half white sugar and half brown sugar and use brown sugar and a bit of butter with the chocolate chips . You just kind of have to smear the batter over the top as best you can, it's not pretty, But crumble more topping on, and you can't tell. Using the brown sugar gives it much more of a gooey chocolate chip cookie taste in a cake!

Not pretty but dang tasty! Followed the recipe exactly but they needed cooked a little while longer. The dough is very sticky. Brush with butter and serve warm... they were wonderful!

Hawaiian Chicken Kabobs

Wonderful! The only thing I changed was to make two bags of marinade, one for the chicken and one for the pineapple and veggies, and I added the pineapple juice from the can of fruit to each of the marinades, just because it seemed to be a waste not to use it. Wonderful with onions and sweet peppers on the skewers. Simple too!

Excellent and so easy! I used basil instead of parsley and canned diced tomatoes, and added some baby bella mushrooms. Dinner was ready in less than half an hour to rave reviews!

Tomato Bisque III

I loved this, but my kids were not fans. The only thing I did differently was to add a little can of tomato sauce since I did not have the tomato paste. I did not add the sugar, since the sauce has some in it. Perfect with a grilled cheese, and very easy.
