Vinegar Based BBQ Sauce

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

These came out excellent! I did reduce the white sugar to 1/2 cup. I used this recipe to make thumbprint cookies: make an indentation in the top of the dough ball, then add a spoonful of raspberry or cherry preserves. I got a ton of compliments on these cookies and there were none left by the end of the party!

Kai Kang Dang (Chicken Curry with Coconut Milk)

I made this last night and it was very good. My husband and I like our food very spicy, so in addition to the red curry paste I added one Fresno chili. I also used 1 can (2 cups total) coconut milk, rather than the 2 1/2 cups called for. It still made a lot of sauce. I changed the veggies to green beans and yellow bell pepper. If you use bell pepper it should go in later than the other veggies or else it will get mushy. I'll definitely make this again - it was just as good as the Thai takeout we get all the time!

Coconut Macaroons III

Apple Pie

The flavor was great and the pie good lots of compliments at the party I brought it to. I used dark brown sugar and that gave the filling a rich caramel color. The ginger and nutmeg help deepen the flavor and make the pie special. Definitely a keeper.

The Best Banana Bread

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

I skipped the onions and added an extra half cup cheese. Also added 1/4 tsp black pepper and mustard powder for more flavor. Removed the tin foil at the end for a nice crunchy top. Got rave reviews from the family and will definitely make again.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

This recipe was very good. For more flavor I added thyme and rosemary to the gravy. I didn't use any celery and used some potatoes instead. I mixed the gravy and veggies together before filling and it came out perfect! My husband loved it. Next time I'll probably use a little bit more chicken.

Blueberry Raspberry Pie

This was a good recipe - easy to follow and the pie came out great! My berry ratio was a little different since I used what was available: 2 cups of blueberries and 1 each of blackberries and raspberries. Otherwise I followed to the letter. Yummy with vanilla ice cream!

Beef Stew with Roasted Winter Vegetables

Overall I liked this recipe but the meat came out pretty tough. I used stir-fry sirloin cut up small, and also added green beans for color and crunch towards the end. The broth over mashed potatoes was delicious!

Roasted Beets 'n' Sweets

I didn't follow this recipe closely but just checked it for the oven temp and time. I baked for 1 hour at 450 to get a nice crust on my potatoes, but I think they would have been ready at 45 minutes. I added some quartered button mushrooms for the last 15 minutes, and didn't use onions, sugar, or garlic. The flavor of the veggies is great with just some olive oil, salt, and pepper.

Chicken Enchiladas

This recipe was very easy to make, which was a plus. I skipped the broiling step and didn't miss it at all. Next time I will get an extra can of enchilada sauce to pour over the top, plus add more chili powder and cumin for flavor.

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies I

Good recipe. I followed the previous reviewers' advice and added 1/4 cup extra flour and the cookies came out great. I have made them with 3/4 cup each walnuts and chocolate chips, or walnuts and dried cranberries, and they're both delicious.

Pecan Breaded Chicken Breasts

The recipe says to used chopped pecans, but they need to be very small in order to not fall off while cooking. Instead of chopping, use the food processor or blender to grind them. Otherwise this was a tasty recipe.

Mom's Macaroni and Cheese

Good recipe! I followed the instructions of some of the other reviewers and used 1t each of mustard powder, salt, and pepper. I doubled the cheddar to 2 cups and used a really sharp one. I also used more pasta. The leftovers were delicious and I'll definitely make it again.

Roast Chicken with Rosemary

I didn't have any rosemary at home so I stuffed the chicken with a quartered onion and 4 cloves of garlic. I mashed up some butter with dried thyme and spread it on the breast under the skin. Delicious!

Fettuccine Alfredo V

I liked this recipe but my husband said it wasn't cheesy enough. I might try it again with more Parmesan. If you shred your own Parmesan cheese, make sure you do it ahead of time! I thought I could do it while an earlier step was cooking, but this recipe is very quick, so I didn't have time.
