Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2010
I followed this recipe exactly because I've never made a carrot cake. I took it to Easter dinner and everyone seemed to like it. I enjoyed it although it tasted very sweet to me. I think the pieces were cut too large for how sweet the cake was. I would definitely make it again, however, I think I might try a different cream cheese frosting recipe that wasn't quite as sweet.

Creamy Spinach Tortellini

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2010
This recipe was very good and helped my italian craving. I ended up overcooking the tortellini. My refridgerated tortellini only needed to cook for 5 minutes, but since it was the first direction on the recipe, I did it first. I added some minced garlic in with the onions and sundried tomatoes in lieu of the cherry tomatoes. It was very good. The only thing that I noticed is that the frozen spinach was a little stringy in the pasta. It was good enough to make again though and my husband gave it an 8 out of 10.

French Onion Soup Gratinee

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2010
I had tried an failed to make french onion soup before with a different recipe so I was a little nervous about trying again... but it was delicious! I followed the recipe exactly, which isn't something that I am always good at, accept I used boullion instead of broth for the chicken and beef. My husband loved it!

Pistachio Crusted Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2010
My husband and I loved this chicken. I made it according to the recipe and it was perfectly moist. I don't usually care for honey mustard, but this was wonderful and we will definitely make it again.

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2010
These were awesome! I love peanut butter and chocolate together. Mine got a little too done on the bottom (dark pan) so next time I will take them out a minute or two earlier. Delicious!

Pretzel Turtles®

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2010
These are amazing! I can not tell you how easy these are to make. Unwrapping the rolos (and not eating them in the process) is the hardest part! I would caution users to watch them in the oven because my oven at 300 degrees for 4 minutes melted these too much. I have switched to 200 degrees since then. These are great when you need a sweet treat in a pinch!

Omelet Biscuit Cups

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2010
These were delicious! We make something similar with sausage gravy instead of the egg mixture, so I decided to give them a try. I used real bacon bits instead of ham because that's all I had. I think these would be great with a bit of onion added as well. We will definitely make these again!

Cheddar and Olive Balls

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2009
I had problems getting the dough around the olive. I suspect that since I had problems, I got it on there too thick. There was alot of dough to not very much olive and I just wasn't the biggest fan.

Buckeye Balls II

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2009
These turned out perfectly! I used a whole bag of milk chocolate chips (I don't care for semi sweet chocolate chips) and I just had a tiny bit extra. They will keep sealed in the fridge until I need them next week!

Cobb Salad Ham Roll-ups

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2009
These were great! I used real bacon bits to avoid having to cook a pack of bacon. They were great, although I'd recommend making sure that your ham isn't too thin or they could fall apart when you roll them.

Stuffed Endive

The egg salad was good, but I didn't care for the bitter flavor of the endive with it.

Frank's® Red Hot® Buffalo Chicken Dip

We had this at a party and loved it an immediately came home and found the recipe. It doesn't really look delicious, but it's worth it.

Cucumber Sandwiches I

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2009
I did not care for the ranch flavor of the cream cheese. I ended up throwing away most of the cream cheese and not finishing these.

Special Butterscotch Chip Cookies in a Jar

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2009
I really liked these cookies and I don't really like coconut either. I thought they could have used a little more flour for substance as there was lots of coconut and I wouldn't recommend flattening the balls. I'll definitely make these again though.

Poke Cake II

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2009
My MIL makes this all the time, accept she makes it in a 9x13 pan. I think the layer cake will make it much prettier! I made if for the Fourth of July this year and topped it with blueberries, raspberries and strawberries to make a flag. I alway use strawberry jello, but I bet other flavors would be good too.

This soup turned out well, but was quite salty. I wished I followed other's advice and used less salt.

Cookie in a Jar

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2009
These cookies were dryer than I was expecting... a little more like a biscuit, as other reviewers suggested. Even so, my husband couldn't get enough of them. I'm planning to use these cookie jars as favors at a shower I'm throwing.

My husband was skeptical, but really enjoyed the slightly sweet flavor that the root beer added to the pork. Thanks for the suggestion!

Baby BLT

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2009
I followed another reviewer's advice and used half cream cheese and half mayonaise. Also, based on another recipe, I added a little horseradish and it really seemed to give that sometime extra it needed. I cut the tops of the tomatos and drained them for 30 minutes on a paper towel. Then I put the filling in a food storage bag and then cut the corner off. It was so much easier to pipe it into the tomato then to try to use a spoon. Next time, I will cut a small portion off the bottom of the tomato to help them stay upright on the platter. UPDATE: I made these with garlic and herb flavor Borsin cheese in addition to the block of cream cheese and they were amazing. I used yellow cherry tomatoes, and they seemed to walk off the plate. I did shave off a little bit of the bottom and it worked like a charm.
