Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: May 1, 2011
It was good but a little bland. I thought the sauce was just too thin. I broke up the chicken and it did soak it up some, but the flavor just wasn't what I hoped for. Not sure how I would change it, but I will work with it and figure something out. It was a good start to something I think...

Becki's Oven Barbecue Chicken

Reviewed: May 1, 2011
I just don't like home made wings I guess... They were a good brand of chicken, but so fatty! It wasn't I hoped for. I gave it 3 starts because I'm not sure if it was the chicken or the preparation... either way... I won't be trying this again.

Great Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2011
This was really delicious! The only things I added was a 1/2 cup of sour cream, ham, but that was just because I had some leftover And Colby Jack and sharp cheeses.. I also folowed someones recommend to just keep adding a little milk as it cooked. It cooked for about 17 min. It was really good! I will be making this again! Thanks for the recipe!!

Banana Cream Pie I

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2011
I just prepared it today for Easter, and it looks amazing!!!! The pudding tastes great so I am sure it will be great! I wanted to add this for the people who had runny pudding. Make sure you use at least 2% milk, whole is better, but 2%percent will work ok too. And make sure you boiling it and stirring for 2 or 3 minutes, till it thickens a bit in the pan. Mine turned out great! I also used a 10 inch pis crust, homemade. For those of you who said you too much, for me it filled the pan perfectly. I also made a meringue out of the egg whites and that kept the "skin" from forming on top. I can't wait to dig in tomorrow evening!! Thank you so much for this delicious recipe! :)

Absolutely Ultimate Potato Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2011
That was very tasty.. I do plan to make it without the bacon added the next time and try it with butter as I thought it was a little heavy in the bacon flavor. I also added my flour to the potatoes when I added them to the pot to saute'.. then when I added the broth it blended quite nicely without the addition of another dirty pan to wash. I just added my lowfat cream and seasonings after boling the potatoes in the broth for about 18 minutes. I also didn't add the cilantro as I am allergic to it. I added a little sage and some chives instead. it was good that way.I will add bacon and cheese to the soup when serving it to give it a little bacon flavoring. This soup did take me about 2 and half hours to make. I will make it again, but this time with my changes. Thanks!!

Irresistible Irish Soda Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2011
This was the best Irish Soda Bread I've made! Traditional Irish soda bread does not have raisins, fruit or nuts in it! It was a simple soda bread either made with hearty grain flour or white flour on special occasions.. Trust me, this is amazing just as it is!

Italian Wedding Soup I

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2011
This was very good. I changed a couple of things to give it a light but flavorful taste. I double the recipe to feed our family of 6. to make the meatballs I used 1 1/2 lbs ground turkey, 1/3 cup bread crumbs, 2 eggs, 1/4 cup parma cheese. I added the meatballs to the boiling broth that was 10 cups low sodium Chicken broth and 2 cups beef Stock. Along with meatballs I added the carrots, onions, and 1 stalk of celery, chopped. after 8 minutes, I added 14 oz of Fresh Spinach, chopped, and 1/2 cup parma cheese, and 1 cup orzo pasta and cooked for another 10 minutes. I was perfect! :) Thank you for this great start to a wonderful soup!

Pork Fried Rice for Two

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2011
This gave me a great base for making Pork Fried Rice. I didn't have the chinese five spice they called for... and I was making it for a family of 6. I used a pork loin roast that I had made the day before and wanted something besides the typical pork b-b-q. So I fried that up with some low sodium soy sauce, and then removed it. Added the veggies and 4 garlic cloves, diced and more soy, and then added the rice and pork back in and fried it up. It was awesome! I don't know what the caraway seed or spices would have done, but in case you find yourself like me and lacking those things.. the garlic and soy sauce were perfect! I also cooked my rice with a couple of beef bouillon cubes. Hope this helps you out! Yum!

Hamburger Potato Casserole

It was good. Tasted a little too greasy for my taste, but other than that it was good. Might try it with ground turkey next time.

Great Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2011
These were quite good. Especially good with the cream cheese icing! It had an oatmeal/ hearty quality that my family loved! Would make an excellent breakfast cookie when you add pecans or chopped almonds!

Cheese Sausage Strata

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2011
I normally don't like these with bread in them, but this sounded good so I thought I'd give a try. It was really good! I think it was the milk that kept it from getting too dry. For those who thought it was runny, I used cubed Italian loaf bread, or French bread. I think it worked really well. We enjoyed this a lot will make it again and again in our house!

Blue Ribbon Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2011
I gave this 3 stars because the lemon flavor was bit too much. The cookie was a nice texture, although a bit oily from the vegetable oil. I was a bit surprised to see that ingredient, as I have never made a cookie with vegetable oil before which is why I thought I would try it. But I think I will stick with all butter recipes the next time. It almost tasted store bought with that oily flavor. All in all its a tasty cookie, but maybe it should be called Lemon sugar cookies instead.

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies II

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2010
These were amazingly moist and delicious! I made them exact with one substitution. I had Mint chocolate chips and they worked out great! In the second batch I added Macadamia nuts and again... you can't wrong!! I cooked mine for 10 minutes on parchment lined baking sheets and they were the Bomb! Moist and chewy! Will make these again and again!

This tasted like turkey burgers. I even added more seasonings halfway through making them after I had tasted one that was done. Sorry, but it was not good!

Easy Freezer Pickles

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2010
These were quite easy and delicious! My only issue was it needed more clarity with the storage time. I read elsewhere that the pickles would be just as good stored up to a year... I'll let you know! I also canned some to see how they would turn out.. Holidays will be the deciding factor :)

Auntie Doris's Peach Jam

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2010
The Jam set well, no issues there. I read somewhere that if you cook it too long, it will not turn out well. I cooked it for about 45 mins to 1 hour. Set perfectly. What I wasn't crazy about was the orange peel. It made it a little bitter and it tasted so much like orange not enough peach. I even cut the oranges down to 3. That is why it has 3 stars. Next time I might try it along with a teaspoon of Lemon juice and one apple for the pectin.

Ruby Drive Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2010
Made this tonight, it's a keeper for sure! I didn't have the Worcestershire sauce, and I think it was great without it. I did use my homemade salsa though, so I don't know how that may have affected the outcome. But thank you for sharing this! Awesome!
