Seven Layer Taco Dip

Reviewed: May 21, 2012
Great recipe. Made some adjustments. I added a lb. of bulk sausage that I cooked with the taco seasoning and the refried beans and used that as my 1st layer. I omitted the lettuce all together and added a layer of guacamole on top of the cream cheese layer. Also instead of chopping tomato I used a can of tomatoes flavored w/garlic and onion that I drained really well.

Hamburger Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2012
I made this for may family last night and they loved it. The only changes I made were I added a couple of cloves of crushed garlic on top of the potatoes and I used Italian style chopped tomatoes. It came out great. I was a little nervous that the meat would burn on the bottom but it didn't and it cooked perfectly. Like others have said you do not cook the meat ahead of time. It goes in raw. This is a great cheap meal!

Quick Cassoulet

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2012
This came out great. I took some ideas from a Cassoulet recipe on Taste of Home. I added cooked chopped bacon, chopped rotissere chicken and sliced mushrooms. I also used all great northern beans. I also added some chicken broth and a splash of red wine to give it some broth. The flavors were amazing and came together so quickly a traditional Cassoulet usually takes hours to make.

Teri's Dinner in a Pumpkin

My kids love this recipe. Instead of canned mushrooms I sauted fresh mushrooms w/onion and celery then browned the meat. I also added sliced water chestnuts for crunch.

Fettuccine Alfredo V

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2011
I made this for a pot luck at work and it went over really well. I kept the sauce and noodles separate and the sauce reheated very well. I did have trouble getting the sauce to thicken so I just used some flour and made a roux and it was perfect!

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2011
This was a great base recipe that you make as is or add your own touch. I made 12 loaves for a festival at my church each a little different: blueberry, mini chocolate chip, raisin, banana, cranberry. The bread was very moist. Also I didn't have vanilla extract but had maple extract left over and used that and it really added a richness to the bread.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough + Cupcake = The BEST Cupcake. Ever.

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2011
I made these for a birthday treat for my son's school and they were a big hit! We used chocolate cake mix and I used the break apart cookie dough that I put in the freezer. Topped with vanilla frosting and some mini chocolate chips for decoration. I think next time I might try peanut butter cookie dough... Thanks for sharing.

Chicken Wild Rice Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2011
Great soup. I used a rotisserie chicken which is a great short cut. I also cooked the veggies in olive oil then added the flour and chicken broth and the soup thickened nicely. I also added the rice uncooked and just added extra chicken broth this way it was a one pot soup. Instead of the bouillon I used the flavor packet from the Uncle Ben's wild and long grain rice original. It gave the soup a great flavor.

Dawn's Easy Red Velvet Sandwich Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2010
I made these for my Christmas cookie exchange and they were a big hit! I omitted the coconut because not everyone likes it. I drizzled them with white chocolate and they looked really cool. I did find that it was easier to roll in the pecans after I chopped them in the food processor. Thanks for sharing this great recipe!

Cabbage Kielbasa Supper

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2010
I made this last night and based on the other reviews (thank you that is why I love this site) I did not put it in the crock pot. I put it in a roasting pan and baked it on 300 for about an hour and a half. Until the potatoes were done. It came out wonderful not mushy at all. I also added baby carrots and seasoned it w/salt, pepper an thyme. My family thought it was wonderful. It had great flavor.

Artichoke & Spinach Dip Restaurant Style

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2009
I made this for a cookout and everyone really liked it. I too thought it was too bland when I tasted it before I baked it so I did add salt and some fresh cracked pepper. Also I used a whole head of roasted garlic instead of just a couple of cloves.
