About this Cook
I love to make everything by myself: homemade and natural! I'm still young, so right now it's all about learning to become a great cook. I would love to be like some of those mamas that can take a recipe, improvise, and make it taste just right for the family.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook Asian food (ala the Asian part of me), Italian (lots of pasta!), as well as good ol' fashioned Southern TEXAN dishes (via the Texan in me!).
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love, Love, LOVE authentic lumpia made with real lumpia wrappers and I will not settle for half-done wonton wrapper lumpia. That is NOT the same!
My cooking triumphs
My favorite dishes I have made so far are pork lettuce wraps, a wonderful homemade, fresh fruit cheesecake, and chicken marsala with marscepone sauce.
My cooking tragedies
If only you knew (or didn't)! One of the worst things I did was replace 1/2 of simple syrup for molasses in a sorbet. I thought it would be sweeter?? This is a REALLY BAD idea!!

Vegan Cupcakes
I love this recipe. It comes out so moist and just plain good. I love that it is easy to tweak depending on what mood you are in. You definitely wont miss the egg/dairy in this!

Orzo with Parmesan and Basil
This tastes great! I like to add baby portabella mushrooms, grape tomatoes, and chicken to the mix for a "one skillet meal" I don't have to mess with. I love the flavors together!

Sinigang na Baka
Masarap! The soup had a great flavor. I didn't use exactly the same vegetables (cabbage and kale instead of bok choy and green beans), but then the sinigang is versatile with vegetables. Made it with a side of rice... Yum! :).
