Dawn's Candied Walnuts

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2011
Thanks so much for this recipe! I made these to jar up as a fast gift, and it took me about half an hour total from start through clean up. Amazing that something this yummy takes so little time to prepare. They look great in the jars, and I will definitely be making these again!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2010
Tried this tonight and it was fantastic! I made a few adjustments, adding chicken broth instead of water and adding some frozen broccoli and cauliflower. The veggies broke down completely, and added a nice subtle taste to the final product, but next time I will add them later during cooking. To anyone making this for the first time - don't be alarmed if it looks very thin in the pot before you add the biscuits, it gets much thicker once they are in there. So yummy - I'll be making this again for sure!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2010
Easy to make, and tastes amazing. Any time my family requests apple pie, this is the recipe I use. I always make it as written, no substitutions or changes needed. Thanks!

Smooth Sweet Tea

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2010
We went through about a jug of this tea a day during the summer. For something so simple it turns out tasting better than a pre-made tea. It tastes best as written, but after a few jugs we wanted to cut back on the calories some, and substituted splenda for half the sugar. Don't forget the baking soda, it really helps to remove the bitterness of the tea. Thanks for a great recipe.

Microwave Oven Peanut Brittle

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2010
This peanut brittle is amazing. Every time I make it (which is fairly often) people go absolutely crazy for it, and everyone assumes that I must be some sort of candy pro. One thing to watch out for is that every batch cooks up slightly differently - I pay close attention to the smell of it to stop it cooking before it gets too dark. Recently I started using macadamia nuts instead of peanuts for special events, and they work just as well, and definitely have a "wow" factor for people eating it. Thanks for the recipe!

Chocolate Fudge Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2010
I was hesitant to use the hot fudge topping, but I ended up adding the whole cup and loving it. I used the highest quality hot fudge I could find, and I think that helped. Good consistency, spread easily on my cake, and set up very well. Be careful not to use too much, as it is very sweet, but a thin layer was perfect!

Whipped Cream

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2010
A very nice whipped cream. I like that it wasn't overly sweet like store bought ones that taste mostly like sugar. Having the bowl and whisk very cold helped a lot, I put mine in the freezer about half an hour before cooking, and it worked perfectly.

One Bowl Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2010
I made this cake as directed, and was very happy with it. I ended up splitting the layers and giving the cut sides a wash with simple syrup, but the cake would have been moist enough without it. I would recommend waiting at least a day to eat the cake after baking. The day after it was baked the cake was good, two days later it was fantastic. I will definitely use this recipe again, thanks!
