Chewy Granola Bars

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2011
Great recipe! I added honey and used a full stick of butter, ww flour, omitted the chocolate chips and used 1 c. of mini M&Ms instead. A huge hit with my kids, we'll definitely use this recipe often. Thank you!

Artichoke Spinach Lasagna

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2010
This was delicious! I added a bit of cream cheese to jarred marinara & crushed tomatoes to make a pink sauce, and I added ricotta in with the mozzarella & egg for firmer cheese layers. I omitted the rosemary & used fresh basil & baby spinach. It was a hit! My kids even cleaned their plates; and a foodie friend said that 'if she had ordered this somewhere, she'd be 100% pleased' This will definitely go into a regular rotation at our house!

Portobello Mushroom Stroganoff

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2009
Awesome recipe-but I made the following changes: *Reduced sour cream to 3/4 c. *Used a very large onion, 2 cloves garlic, 1 stalk celery, a few green onions/scallions, and half a yellow bell pepper for more depth of flavor *added a dash of soy sauce & Worcestershire sauce along with salt & black pepper for flavor & spice *adding a T. or two of tomato paste would be an awesome addition, in a pinch (I didn't want to waste a can) I added a generous squirt of ketchup. That is a "secret" ingredient in another stroganoff recipe that is a family favorite. My 7 year old son asked if this was a 'five star' recipe because he LOVED it, I told him it definitely was. Everyone in our family of 5 loved it-we will definitely make this again!

Stracciatella

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2009
Delicious! I was looking for a recipe using spinach, pasta, & egg, and this was perfect! I added a large finely diced tomato and used fresh baby spinach finely sliced and a bit of olive oil with the butter-it was a hit. My three young boys loved it-simple, good, and very filling.

Bourbon Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2009
This recipe was delicious on a red velvet cake! Such a good and adult twist on a staple favorite (cream cheese icing) I used 3.5 Tbsp. of Bourbon and 2 Tbsp. of white rum... the flavor was not too strong and only noticeable in a large bite... several people inquired about what flavors were in it and were guessing things like 'lemon' 'almond' etc. so the alcohol taste wasn't overbearing that way.

Pasta Bean Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2009
This recipe is delicious and has a surprisingly full flavor for being so simple, light, and easy. I have three young children and they loved it too-we will definitely have this again. I doubled the recipe & added a little white pepper & ground peppercorns to spice it up, as well as increased the amount of spinach.
