Baked Homemade Macaroni and Cheese

This is sooo good. I add bacon to the macaroni and french's fried onions instead of the cracker topping.

Sunday Chicken Dinner

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2010
I have made this as directed - using that "Traci's Adobo Seasoning" instead of Cajun, as suggested by another chef. It was DELISH! Today I am trying it differently. I lined my 7 quart slow cooker with foil, sprayed it with cooking spray, used SIX peeled taters and added a couple drumsticks that I rolled in the flour and slid under the broiler for a few minutes on each side. I just wanted to make more portions and my hubby loves drumsticks. I lined the lid with foil and am cooking on low. I always broil drumsticks for a bit before slow cooking. I find that it helps to keep them from just falling apart.

Mom's Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2008
WOW! This was yummy! I used brown sugar instead of white, cut it in half, & only 3/4c. of water..... I think if the apples are juicy, you can use less water. I also threw 1/4 c oatmeal into the topping, it came out really good.

These are AMAZING cookies! I used the half brown half/white sugar AND half butter/half shortening suggestions and the cookies came out gorgeous. I also stirred in some Reese's pieces. SUPER YUM! I love this recipe!

Bacon Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2010
If I could give this MORE stars, I would! Taking others' advice I stuffed the inside of my chicken with chopped up celery, onion, lemon, carrots and a bit of minced garlic. I rubbed the butter all over it and draped it with bacon and counted the seconds til it was done - especially once that delicious aroma hit the house. Follow the recipe adjusting for the size of your bird and you CAN'T go wrong. I had to add an extra cup of beef broth because my bird was a little bigger. By the way, I think the beef broth adds a TON to the flavor of this chicken. I didn't have any broth, so I used 3 boullion cubes + 3 cups boiling water. I threw the leftover bacon in with some mashed potatoes with sour cream. Gosh! It was so flipping good. My hubby LOVED it!

Martian Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2010
These are REALLY good! I was leary about the zucchini, but WOW! Super delicious! My youngest is extremely picky and I am always looking for ways to slip him some veggies. He gobbled these up! I followed the recipe exactly except that I didn't have walnuts OR pecans, so I used some chopped almonds (salad topper.)

Homemade Chewy Granola Bars

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2010
Soooo yummy! I used chunky peanut butter, 1/4 cup of honey instead of corn syrup, and stirred in some cocoa krispies. I didn't have wheat germ, raisins or sesame seeds, but used some butter toffee sunflower kernals I got at Dollar General. Smooshed it down in a cooking sprayed cookie sheet (could have doubled the recipe) and baked at 325 for 20 minutes, they came out PERFECT!

Overnight Apple Cinnamon French Toast

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2011
I cut the recipe in half for our family. I also used what bread we had in the house (6 slices, including those scraggy end pieces) and the last 3 hamburger buns. I used a Bundt cake pan - I'll cook according to directions tomorrow am and rate this recipe then! OK, it is the morning now and this was SUPER yummy! It came out very pretty from the bundt pan, although some of the apples slid a bit! I think it would have been prettier if I had powdered sugar to dust the top with. My hubby loved it!

this batter tasted so yummy that it almost didn't make it in the oven. WOW it is rich. I didn't have any nuts so I used chocolate chips, m&ms and Reese's pieces.

Serbian Ground Beef, Veggie, and Potato Bake

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2010
This was REALLY good! Better than I expected it to be. The best part was, our youngest (on the autism spectrum and VERY anti veggie) snarfed those veggies down! I am always looking for ways to make that happen! I used a yellow pepper instead of green and substituted sour cream for half & half. I think in the future I will dissolve the boullion in the water and THEN add it. I also followed the suggestion and added potatoes to the meat mixture. YUP . . . This was a winner. Thank you for the recipe!
