Doreen's Ham Slices on the Grill

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2008
Just made this for dinner tonight. (though I must admit, I'm the typical old fashioned cook. I glanced at the ingredient list and then just dumped rather than measured) The ham steaks were awesome! What a great recipe and one I would have never dreamed up myself. My husband and son loved them, too. Thanks for sharing!

Amazing Pork Tenderloin in the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2008
This was very good. The meat came out tender and the broth was delicious. I added a rub seasoning that I use on many meats, but otherwise did just as the original recipe called for and we all enjoyed this pork dinner.

Slovak Stuffed Cabbage

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2007
Wow! Awesome recipe! I made half of the recipe and it still was enough for my husband and me to have it for dinner one night and then to have left overs twice! It makes a lot, so be warned! But, the good news is, that this recipe is just delicious. I will definitely make it again and again!

Pizza Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2006
My family loved this recipe! My youngest, a picky eater, cleaned his plate and my husband went back for seconds, which doesn't happen often. I'll be making this one again.

Grilled Brown Sugar Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2006
Excellent recipe! I didn't have any apple juice, so substituted what I had on hand (mango/passion fruit) and they were great anyway.Great flavor for a summer cook out!

German Sausage Chowder

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2005
This is an awesome chowder! I happened to have knockwurst on hand, so I used it instead of kielbasa and used the cheddar cheese and we loved it! Next time I'll use the kielbasa and I can only imagine that it'll be even better. Thanks for sharing an excellent recipe, Allie!

Savory Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2004
Delicious! I didn't have Swiss cheese, so used Velveeta instead and was out of dried bread crumbs, so substituted oatmeal on top. I made a fried rice almondine on the side and served the chicken over the rice...yummy!

Caribbean Jerk Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2004
Excellent! We all loved these chops and besides having a great flavor they were nice and tender. I did make a few changes...first, I used 2 teaspoons of Caribbean Jerk seasoning with a dash of cinnamon rather than the separate spices listed (simply because I had the seasoning on hand) and secondly, since it's too chilly outdoors right now to grill, I simply did them on a grill in the oven and they came out perfect. Thanks for a great recipe!

Jo's Mountain Mush

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2004
There was nothing wrong with this, but we all agreed we would have rather just had beans and weiners with the crispy fried potatoes on the side. The name says it all...after frying my potatoes to a beautiful crispy brown, by adding them to the beans, they simply became mush!

Sweet Corn Tomalito

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2004
The flavor is awesome and I really enjoyed this dish, but the husband and kids didn't care for it at all. I think what they didn't like was the texture.

Turkey Posole

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2003
After having lived in Mexico for seven years, and having been taught to make pozole by my Mexican mother-in-law, I was a little hesitant to try a pozole that didn't use the traditional pork, since pozole is one of my all time favorites. BUT! This recipe is great! I tried it to use up my leftover Thanksgiving turkey and the soup is absolutely fabulous. I will make one suggestion...traditional pozole is always served with shredded cabbage (or lettuce), diced fresh onion, fresh lime juice and a nice big bottle of hot sauce, so each individual can customize his bowl. I put these items on the side and boy, did we enjoy our meal!

Orange Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2002
As my kids would say, This cake rocks! I made it this afternoon and several hours later there are only crumbs left. It's easy, and the only lengthy part is the baking time. Well worth the wait though! The only thing I changed was to use orange extract instead of lemon. I'll make this cake again and again.
