About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
Bacon wrapped Halibut with seared cherry tomato sauce. YUM
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Aunt makes the family spaghetti. I tried for days to recreate it and finally broke down and called her, it's so easy but better than anyone else can make!
My cooking triumphs
Christmas 2010, I had broken my wrist on the 19th and was in a long arm cast yet I managed to cook a full Christmas dinner with my non dominate hand, and only broke 2 dishes :) The only thing I was going to ask for help on was getting the ham out of the oven, but everyone had gone outside, so I did that by myself too!
My cooking tragedies
First time I tried to cook without a recipe and just throw things together, piece of beef, refried beans, pineapple salsa and cheese all baked for a little while...horrible, but the dog loved it! While making my own rendition of a stuffed chicken breast wrapped in bacon broiled in the oven, I caught the oven on fire (I do it every time I make it). The chicken was excellent though!

Egg-White Crepes
I left out the oil all together and made w regular white all purpose flour for lack of whole wheat and regular almond milk. Crepes themselves came to 166 calories each which really makes filling possibilities endless if you are watching calories! I did one with mixed fruit and one with scrambled egg whites and cheese. These are wonderful to make ahead and warm and fill quickly on mornings you are running out the door!

Mushroom Pork Chops
Very good recipe. Like a few others, I did change a few things. I browned the chops with onions then placed into a baking dish with white wine, milk and the soup. Baked at 375 for 45 mins with foil, uncovered for the last 10. Probably would have been better at 40ish mins. Wonderful wonderful wonderful gravy! I was licking it off the spoon while putting away left overs. I'm trying to save my left overs for work but having a very hard time waiting :)

Portabella Nirvana
Easy to make Easy ingredients Tasty finish Restaurant quality taste straight from my oven! The only issue I had was that it was SO RICH when I finished up. My husband doesn't like sea food so I probably won't make it again. It was good, just wasn't what I was looking to taste when I was finished up.
