My favorite things to cook
I have a wide variety of food interests. The only ingredient that I intentionall avoid is cilantro. I had a roomate in college that had fresh cilanto on hand all the time and put it on EVERYTHING! Some of my specialties are my lightning chili (HOT, but great flavor), Apricot-Chipolte Meatballs (Yummy), Summer-berry pie, and of course my chippy cookes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My biological family's tradition was all fried foods, fast foods, or Domino's Pizza. With my adopted family we try to stay on the healthier side of the food pyramid. I am working on creating my own traditions, so when I have a family I will have healthy, positive traditions to pass on.
My cooking triumphs
I have a cookie recipe that has taken several years to perfect the way that I like them. I have yet to have anybody who does not like them and I have made hundreds of them!
My cooking tragedies
The first was when I was about 15 years old...I mixed up the Baking Soda and Baking Powder in a cookie recipe of my grandmothers. WOW, those were the saltiest cookies in history. The most recent: I tried making candied carrots and I used the wrong kind of alcohol to flambe them...they tasted pretty horrific.

Kitty Litter Cake
I make 2 or 3 of these every Halloween. It is a huge hit, everyone loves it.

Baked Parmesan-Crusted Chicken
This was a wonderful recipe. The only changes that I made were: 1. I used and egg wash versus butter. 2. I used crushed Grape Nuts cereal instead of the bread crumbs. They were a huge hit!

Cavatelli, Broccoli and Mushrooms
This is pretty bland; however, here is what I did to improve on it... Added: 1/2 diced yellow onion 1 diced red pepper and I used EVOO instead of the butter. On a second version I used the above ingredient changes and then used whole wheat pasta. Thinking about adding steamed sliced carrots next time.
