About this Cook
My husband and I recently married in august 2009. He loves almost anything I cook. I love to read, crochet, entertain, decorate (though I am not good at that), Love my new grandson, spending with my girls, and playing wii with my youngest daughter and husband. Also love flea markets, yard sales and auctions.
My favorite things to cook
I love baking the best but will try variety of different things.
My favorite family cooking traditions
my youngest daughter loves trying to help in the kitchen, just hard for me to share my area. But she loves to help and I love spending her that time with her.
My cooking triumphs
I made my first meringue at the age of 40. One hurdle overcome.
My cooking tragedies
I have trouble making yeast bread or rolls. Everytime has been a diaster. My husband never gets upset about anything I make that doesn't come out, He says I make alot that come out delicious and it just makes us appreciate them all the more.

Mom's Best Peanut Brittle
My first time at making peanut brittle was a success, thanks for such an easy recipe. I did read some of the other reviews and follow their suggestions. I used a 1 1/2 cups peanuts and it was about right, I used parchment paper on a large sheet cake pan that I had kept warm in the over and I added a tsp of vanilla with the baking soda, also added a 1/4 cup brown sugar. I didn't add the dry roasted peanuts until candy thermometer reached 280 degress and brought it up to 300 before I added the baking soda and vanilla

Creamy Homemade Chicken Stew
we liked this stew, I did make a couple of changes, i doubled the recipes but left the evaporated milk and flour amounts the same, I used chicken thighs and canned mushrooms, and I added the milk and flour in the last 15 minutes of cook time.
