Corned Beef and Cabbage I
I make this every year and it is a total hit. I had a friend of mine (who happens to be Irish) tell me that her grandmother always added a dark Irish Stout when cooking the beef. SO I decided to use a can of Guinness then water to cover. DELICIOUS! Even if you dont like dark beer the way the flavors mesh are wonderful! JUST TRY IT!! :)

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs
Like some others I was hesitant to put raw meat in my sauce...but it turned out fantastic. I made a few changes based on some of the other reviews. I used 2 slices of bread that were soaked in milk then blended them. Sounds weird if you have not made meatballs before but trust me it makes all the difference! I also added a packet of Lawry's seasoning for spaghetti to the sauce. When my boyfriend came home after the sauce had been cooking he said it smelt just like an Italian restaurant. I had to remove the meatballs and add another can of tomato paste (i was afraid of messing up the balls by stirring in the paste) This is time consuming but WELL WORTH IT! Next time I will do the meatballs the night before put the sauce in the crock pot and let it simmer ALL DAY so we can have a wonderful meal on a week night! Do add soggy milk bread to your meatballs, it adds moisture and gives an amazing texture!
