Banana Prune Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2014
Made as specified with just a couple substitutions. substituted splenda for sugar and used 1 cup whole wheat flour and 1/2 cup all purpose flour. Muffins turned out with lots of banana flavor and very light and fluffy. The kids ate several and I enjoyed too. Will definitely make again. Added a handful of walnuts too for extra nutrition.

Turkey Wild Rice Soup II

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2014
Very good with flavored turkey stock from Cajun seasoned turkey. Did not have to add any spices. Cut butter down to 2 teaspoons vs 6 tablespoons. Didn't miss or need it. Used 1/2 cup fat free half and half and half and 1 cup skim milk. Doubled all the veggies. Soup was rich flavorful and delicious. Was able to lighten the recipe and did not sacrifice taste. Even hubby who hates turkey soup had 3 bowls

Pumpkin Apple Streusel Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2014
Very good. We substituted whole wheat flour and applesauce for 1/2 of the oil and this was still very tasty. Rating 5 stars as the regular version has to be even better. This will be going into our recipe book to make again.

Happy Roast Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2014
I happened to have all the ingredients and needed a fast recipe that didn't require hours in slow cooker or lots of marinating time. This was perfect. Made as listed except i cut down the lemon to 1 and skipped the butter. Didn't miss it. was a little scared of the dijon mustard coating but when it was done you couldn't tell. The crust on the chicken was delicious and the chicken was very moist. we polishedi t all off. this is my new go to roast chicken recipe.

Greek Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2013
loved this recipe even though I forgot the dried oregano. I had sprinkled a little italian dressing seasoning on this so that probably made up a little for the forgotten oregano. I made a huge batch and the family loved eating it the next couple of days. I was considering buying the Costco greek pasta but it was drowning in sauce and te pasta looked mushy. So glad I decided to make my own. Will definately keep this recipe and make again!

Proper English Cottage Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2013
this came out better than I expected. Everyone liked and my kids rated 4 1/2. made the recipe as stated except used ketchup instead of tomato paste. I also doubled the amount of ketchup to give the meat a little hint of sweetness. will make again.

This has been my go to recipe for the past 5 years. I love the crisp gingerbread cookies and the orange zest adds an extra something. I make exactly as written and have always had good results. The kids are making some now to frost later for Santa.

Sausage Egg Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2012
came out light and not dense. I only used a little of the flour mixture...not the entire amount. Didn't need full 16 oz of cheese. 8 oz was plenty. everyone really liked. made in muffin tins for about 20 minutes. perfect.

Peach Cake II

cake was tasty and supereasy to put together. it was done or a little overdone after 30 min in the oven so nowhere close to the 50 min in the instructions.

Light Wheat Rolls

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2012
I made recipe essentially as written. I used about 1/8 cup less sugar based on reviews that it was too sweet and whole wheat pastry flour instead of just plain whole wheat flour. Turned out great. Rolls were light and fluffy and looked really nice. I made 1/2 batch as is and the other 1/2 batch I added some garlic and rosemary too. Both were popular with the family.

Indian Tomato Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2012
Surprised there was some heat to this but it was still mild enough for the kids. made as specified except without the cardamom since i didn't have any. still flavorful. Will try again with cardamom as this may make it perfect. easy to prepare. just threw everything into the crockpot on high for a few hours and turned down to low.
