Delicious! I forgot to add the tomato but every bite was eaten quickly. I'll be sure to add the tomato next time. Thank you for this recipe.

Oven Fried Okra

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2011
Such a tasty, healthy way to prepare okra. I also make this without the cornmeal and bread crumbs. Just a light coat of olive oil, salt and pepper is good. My family prefers this recipe, however. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Griddle Scones

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2011
This is exactly the recipe I was looking for and it's delicious. I baked them as suggested but will try the griddle later for authenticity. If you want a lighter scone with lots of fat, choose a different recipe. Thank you for this recipe.

Simple Scones

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2010
Excellent recipe. I added one cup of dried cherries instead of the raisins and brushed the tops with half and half before baking. Perfect scones. I like extra dried fruit in scones but these would be delicious just as recipe is given. Thank you for this recipe.

Pork and Century Egg Rice Congee

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2009
The best congee that I've made ever. I managed to find the char siu at my favorite asian market. They have it delivered once a week and saved some for me. The owner said it goes out fast and he kindly saved a package for me. I made the recipe just as it is given and will make this often. The preserved duck eggs make it even better. This is a recipe for those who are familiar with asian ingredients and enjoy them. For those new to the duck eggs a small cup served with other favorite asian dishes would be a nice way to introduce them to this delicious congee. Thank you for this recipe.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2008
Everyone loved this wonderful lasagna. I decided to soak the noodles in hot water as suggested by some reviewers and will follow the recipe and boil them in water the next time I make this. If you like the noodles that don't require pre-cooking for lasagna, this method will work well. However, I don't care for the texture of those noodles and prefer the old fashioned method even though it does require another pot to wash. So, I'll follow the recipe exactly next time. Thank you for this excellent recipe. Joy

Sicilian Homemade Ricotta Cheese

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2008
I didn't have the cream, but made ricotta for the first time in my 70+ years. It's delicious and I'll make lasagna and use part of the ricotta tomorrow. The whey looked so nutritious and I decided to make a pot of potato/corn/carrot soup with it. I sauteed onions, celery, garlic, added carrots, potatoes, frozen corn and seasonings. It's healthy and very good. Now I just have to find hungry people to help eat it. Thank you for this wonderful recipe. Next time, I'll be sure to use the cream.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2008
I made this delicious pie today and wanted to share the results. I used 7 Granny Smith apples that had been refrigerated. I cooked as instructed, but the apples in the middle didn't cook completely and were too firm. I believe it was because I sliced them rather thick and they still were cold when I placed the pie into the oven. Next time I make this pie, I'll slice the apples more thinly and be sure they are at room temperature before filling the crust and baking. Other than the apples being underdone, this was the best apple pie that I've ever baked. Everyone loved it.
