About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
Eggplant, lamb, chicken, salmon, cod, anything in the crock pot.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite tradition of all is pizza on Christmas Eve. Started when our children were very small. I asked one, "what shall we have for dinner before Santa Claus comes?" and he answered, "pizza". So pizza it was, and pizza it is!
My cooking tragedies
Raw on the inside Cornish Game Hens. I'll never try them again, and my family has never forgotten. I was cooking for a large number. It was awful.

Poppyseed Dressing
I've made this dressing a few times. We use it on fruit or green salads or for veggie dippers. I tend to use less salt, but that's because our family uses less salt in general. I use a mini food processor to put it all together. It takes just a few minutes and tastes a million times better than the bottled stuff.

Magical Egg Salad
As written, this came out way too sweet for our taste. It took some tinkering to get it be more savory.

Rich Italian Sausage and Potato Soup
I made a few ingredient changes because of what I had in my pantry. I used 3 slices of bacon in place of the pancetta. I used spicy Italian turkey sausage, and I used fat free half and half in place of the heavy cream. It still tasted rich and flavorful. Thanks very much.
