About this Cook
I am a Southern California wife and mother of one. I am a simple person that enjoys home decor, baking, and spending time with my family. You can also find me on YouTube - House of Aqua: http://www.youtube.com/user/HouseOfAqua/videos?sort=dd&flow=list&page=1&view=0
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy making a variety of ice cream, cookies, cakes, and candies. In recent years I have branched out by making new dinner recipes and found that I enjoy the challenge.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I have a daughter that loves to help me bake. We spend Christmas Eve in the kitchen making special cookies for Santa together.
My cooking triumphs
I consider tempering chocolate and making caramels a triumph. You either get it right or your wrong!
My cooking tragedies
I failed several times at trying to make fondant centers for truffles. I decided to put my candymaking book away for a while!

Golden Apple Raisin Squares
This recipe was easy to make and cake out super moist. I love the chunks of Apple and golden raisins, this made for a tasty fall treat for my family. I would make these again!

No-Bake Choco Bar
These turned out like homemade granola bars but without the processed sugars! I used organic coconut nectar in place of honey only because I was out. The nectar has the same consistency as honey and it worked well for this recipe. I added the shredded coconut and large pieces of walnut. I also added a sprinkle of coarse sea salt on top which I would recommend for added interest.

Almost-Homemade Buttermilk
Usually I need buttermilk for a specific recipe and the rest of the carton would go to waste. Now I only make homemade buttermilk by using milk and vinegar. There is no need to ever buy it from the store again.
