I recently discovered Affogato and have become obsessed! Affogato is a traditional Italian espresso drink. It is amazingly easy as it only consists of vanilla ice cream with a shot of hot espresso poured over the top. The fun comes with being able to play with the basics by trying various… MORE

About this Cook
I am a tradtional homemaker and love being a wife and mother. I also have a precious cat that follows me around all day. I love taking care of my home and family.I grew up on a farm in Iowa but now I am very much at home in San Diego. Here is my YouTube Channel - House of Aqua: http://www.youtube.com/user/HouseOfAqua/videos?sort=dd&flow=list&page=1&view=0
My favorite things to cook
I love baking a wide variety of cookies, cakes and candies as baking is my specialty. I also have been branching out and making different dinner foods and bread. I enjoy grilling vegetables and bread.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My daughter loves to help me bake. My daughter is destined to have a love for baking and has her own apron, mini baking sheets, and cookie cutters. She helps me each and every time I am bake.
My cooking triumphs
I can temper chocolate and I can make caramels, I consider those my triumphs at the moment since it can be tricky to work with chocolate and caramel.
My cooking tragedies
I have been trying to make candy from scratch. I failed several times at trying to make the fondant for candy and truffle centers, I decided to put my candymaking book away for a while.

Easy Mini Bagel Pizzas
Quick and easy, mini pizzas in the simplest form. My daughter and I enjoyed this as a quick dinner. I made my homemade pizza sauce to use on this. I would like to add a couple of other toppings or cheeses to mine next time. Great recipe!

Chocolate Allspice Dessert Nachos
Super simple yet very tasty. I downsized the recipe to one serving. I was pleseantly surprised by the perfect blend of butter, sugar, cinnamon, cocoa, and allspice. I topped with all of the suggested toppings. The best part is you could make a large batch and store the leftover chips. They would also be a great gift to a host coupled with a homemade jar of the sauces.

Strawberry Margarita Sauce
Easy and versatile sauce to make. I made this fresh and put on top of my vanilla yogurt. Great for ice cream too!
