Let's cool off with an easy to make Iced Caramel Macchiato that will save you a lot of money by making it at home! While I love Starbucks and I admit I am a frequent customer, there are days when I really enjoy creating the drinks at home and I love sharing them with you.

Iced Caramel Macchiato

2 shots of brewed espresso, hot

3 Tablespoons vanilla syrup

1 1/4 cup 2% milk

3/4 cup ice cubes

Caramel Sauce for drizzling

Directions:

1.) Pour the vanilla syrup into the bottom of your cup.

2.) Add milk to the vanilla syrup.

3.) Slowly add ice cubes. I tend to go light on ice as a personal preference but a typical iced 16 ounce grande has about 3/4 cup of ice. You can adjust to your preference.

4.) Pour espresso shot on top of ice.

5.) Drizzle caramel syrup on top in a cross-hatch pattern to ensure even coverage of caramel across the top of the drink.

This recipe makes one 16 ounce grande drink. If you use a clear glass, you will see the beautiful layers with the espresso hanging out on the top of the drink. You will taste the sweet vanilla milk and caramel at first and the rich espresso as you drink more. If you prefer the flavors mixed then simply shake or stir before drinking.

Enjoy!

I love the Starbucks Frappuccino Vanilla Coffee. The one in a bottle you can buy at Wal-Mart. Never had one at the Starbucks store. How do you make that? I am sure both are good.

My favorite things to cook
I enjoy making a variety of ice cream, cookies, cakes, and candies. In recent years I have branched out by making new dinner recipes and found that I enjoy the challenge.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I have a daughter that loves to help me bake. We spend Christmas Eve in the kitchen making special cookies for Santa together.
My cooking triumphs
I consider tempering chocolate and making caramels a triumph. You either get it right or your wrong!
My cooking tragedies
I failed several times at trying to make fondant centers for truffles. I decided to put my candymaking book away for a while!
