The retro candy theme birthday party was a success! I served a variety of mini bagels as well as a variety of cream cheese, fruit, and chocolate chip coffee cake from an AllRecipes recipe.
For beverages I prepared party punch from AllRecipes using blue punch, rainbow berry sherbet, and ginger ale. I also served cold chai latte, lemon water, and sparkling wine.
Last year I made a homemade cake inspired by Cold Stone using homemade cake batter ice cream and red velvet cake. I even went as far as finding Pastry Pride, the product Cold Stone uses to frost their white cakes in. This year
I opted to just buy a Cold Stone cake. It was pricey as a large round cake costs $35 but it was worth not rushing around trying to clean our home, decorate, grocery shop, and take on a huge baking task.
At the end of the party, the both children and adults filled retro popcorn bags with gummy bears and worms, sixlets, tootsie rolls, licorice, fresh baked cookies, Twix, rock candy, cherry candy sticks, and more!
