I got these super cool grapefruit spooons at Crate and Barrel. Before jamming my spoon into the fruit and trying to work out of the wedges was messier. These grapefruit spoons are wedge shaped and they a smooth, yet serated sides to get the fruit out with ease.

I think these spoons are worth having if you eat grapefruit.
What do you think?

How do you eat your grapefruit....plain or with sugar on top?

Here is the link to to exact spoons pictured that I have:

I used spoons like these at a hotel and I thought they were a good idea. You have my positive vote.

Grapefruit spoons are the best! Mine are shaped a little wider with different "teeth" but work great. Can't eat a grapefruit without them...I'm officially spoiled.

there is another way. I eat mine peeled like an orange. Not as formal as with a spoon but I enjoy them.

My mother used to have grapefruit spoons. They are the exact thing needed for these Delish fruit. I love them too:0 I eat mine naked. I would rather drink the juice but know that the whole fruit is better for me. I would like to get some of those spoons. It seems it would be easier to eat them and in that case, I might eat more of them! Hubby likes his fruit with salt. Nice blog MSC!

I always cut along the edges of each portion with a knife first,so all you do to eat it is scoop it out, fork in one hand and desert spoon in the other, maybe it's cos I am Scottish, we do it differently there!

My grandparents spent every winter in FL, from Dec.27 thru April and they had those awesome grapefruit spoons. As a kid, I only at grapefruit at Grandma's house because she had cool spoons! When they quit going to FL when they reached their 80's, Grandma gave me her spoons. I still have them and enjoy eating with them. Like Patty Cakes said - Your grapefruits are really pretty!

I wouldn't mind getting some grapefruit spoons! I love grapefruit - if I have time, I cut around the edges with a serrated knife before eating, but more often than not I just peel and eat it like an orange.

I love grapefruit spoons, but alas my husband (THE COOK)likes Multi-tasker utensils. He's kinda like Alton Brown that way. What would another use for them be? BTW, those pictures make me want a grapefruit. Good job!

I love these spoons! We have a few for so long, I can't even remember when we got them. I don’t add sugar to the grapefruits, and we love fresh squeezed grape juice.

I got the fresh juice from the grapefruit more than anything. If I eat the fruit, I do sprinkle a little bit of sugar on it.

I do use a grapefruit spoon but I always score the grapefruit first to make it easier. I like it with sugar on top. Or honey. My boyfriend taught me an amazing way to do grapefruit, cover with a thick layer of sugar and immediately put under the broiler until it forms a crisp sugar layer! Yum.

I never knew there was such a thing as grapefruit spoons. I will definitely have to buy some now! How cool! I love grapefruit and should eat it more often. I grew up eating them cut in half and used a knife to section out the pieces. I eat my grapefruit with sugar sprinkled on top. When I am finished, I drink the juice from the leftover grapefruit cup. YUM!
