New Pretzel M&Ms, What Do You Think of Them?

Have you seen the new Pretzel M&Ms?

After months of seeing advertisements and coupons for the new Pretzel M&Ms, I finally spotted them at my local Target. Naturally being a candy lover I had to try them.

I am actually not a big fan of them. They are very crunchy. I miss those Crispy M&Ms they once made than came in a blue bag.

What do you think of them new Pretzel M&Ms? Have you noticed there is an M&M color that are missing? Which one is it?

NO yellow! I think they are OK, but I'd rather have a chocolate dipped pretzel. Peanut Butter M & M's are still my favorite!

Oct. 2, 2010 8:27 pm
I am an M&M affecionado! Love those little sugar buttons. I like the Almond M&M's and the Peanut Butter M&M's. So, I ran right out and bought the Pretzel M&M's when they first came out. Ummmmmm...... do I like them? Not so much! Haven't bought any more.

Oct. 2, 2010 8:45 pm
I do think they need more chocolate - I guess if I mixed a bag of regular with a bag of the pretzel that would balance it out!! Ha!But the Peanut butter ones rock!!!

Oct. 2, 2010 8:51 pm
Haven't tried them and probably won't, but I absolutely love the commercial. Too funny!

Oct. 2, 2010 9:24 pm
I also love the peanut butter M&M's. Yes, there are no yellow pretzel M&Ms....I wonder why? I won't buy them again. Has anyone tried the coconut M&M's that they were advertising earlier this year? I never did see them.

I bought a bag not too long ago and was disappointed with the taste. Seemed like it was all shell and pretzel. I expected more chocolate over the pretzel like the peanut M&M's. I won't be buying them again.

Oct. 3, 2010 4:12 am
The only M&M's I like is the Peanut covered (not peanut butter), quite addictive. I did try the new Pretzel M&M and the Coconut but didn’t like them. I found Coconut M&M's at Walgreens, I didn't see it at Target.

Oct. 3, 2010 4:20 am
We have these at work and the reviews are mixed. People either love them or think they're disgusting =)

Oct. 3, 2010 6:52 am
I looked so forward to the pretzel M & M's, but was disappointed with the actual product. Give me my Flipz. I LOVE the coconut M & M's, hope they're permanent.

I also had to have a bag ...but I don't care for them either...just give the peanut m&m's

Oct. 3, 2010 9:07 am
They didn't sound good to me so I didn't buy them. My coworker who loves pretzel/chocolate stuff did not care for them at all.

Oct. 3, 2010 9:11 am
I was dying to try them, and was disappointed when I finally did. IMO, they don't taste like chocolate covered pretzels, just a crunchy thing inside of a little bit of chocolate~ not a fan!

Oct. 3, 2010 9:31 am
I agree that they are crunchy shells and hard pretzel. Someone mentioned they found coconut M&M's at Walgreens. For the others who have had them, what store did you find them at? I haven't had them yet but I would love to try them.

Oct. 3, 2010 9:34 am
I love them but I am originally from an area where chocolate covered pretzels are populare.

Oct. 3, 2010 10:42 am
I have not tried the pretzel M&M's. I'm not a pretzel fan period. I LOVE peanut, peanut butter, & original M&M's.

Oct. 3, 2010 11:43 am
Why do you think they left out yellow? I am perplexed by this.

Oct. 3, 2010 12:28 pm
I LOVE chocolate covered pretzels, but these don't really taste like that. The pretzel in the middle is a hard ball covered with very little chocolate. Disappointed! I'm not sure why they left out the yellow?

Oct. 3, 2010 2:26 pm
We can get the Crispy M&M's here!!

Oct. 3, 2010 2:28 pm
Don't like them. Would rather have the M&M peanuts. Can't really get the flavor of the pretzel M&M, something is missing. Won't be buying them again.

Oct. 3, 2010 4:24 pm
I tried them and thought they were just OK. Both my boys agreed. My favorite are peanut M&Ms. My hubby and boys all favor the peanut butter M&Ms.

Oct. 4, 2010 8:42 am
Not a big pretzel fan and was even more upset that they stole the blue bag from crispy M&M's. I have been a fan of the peanut butter M&M's ever since they first came out in the red & yellow bags back in the late 80's. We have the coconut M&M's available in all the stores in my town, I refuse to buy them on principle.

Oct. 4, 2010 8:44 am
I love coconut and I was so disappointed at the coconut M&Ms. I will have to try the pretzel ones, though they don't sound too promising.

Oct. 4, 2010 5:28 pm
I expected salty sweet but the pretzel didn't seem salty enough but it seem to take away the sweetness:(

Oct. 4, 2010 6:51 pm
I think the pretzels taste stale and the chocolate is too mild to be much good either....yuk!

Oct. 4, 2010 7:28 pm
I know companies conduct research into their products before they invest too much so I am questioning their research. It seems there are not too many people who like these.

Oct. 5, 2010 6:54 am
I knew these were a no go when my chocaholic son ate one, then gave the rest of the bag to his sister.

Oct. 5, 2010 9:02 am
They stole the blue bag from the crispy m&m's because the same "spokesm&m" is being used as crispy as well.(the orange one) Remember he was the paranoid crispy guy before? :) I liked the coconut ones a lot! And I'm not a big fan of coconut go figure. My faves are almond though! MMM!

Oct. 6, 2010 5:17 am
The elderly people across the hall wanted them, they don't get out much. I found them some, but there complaint was the hard pretzel. Me, I didn't want to try them. I tried a salty chocolate bar in the past and it was terrible, then again I don't use much salt so that may have been a factor. I'll stick with plain or semi-sweet chocolate.

Oct. 7, 2010 4:14 am
I thought they were pretty good, looks like I was the only one! I would rather they brought back the crispy M&Ms...

Oct. 7, 2010 4:42 am
We (me & husband) actually didn't like them very much. I'm not the best benchmark (my favorite flavor is the strawberry & peanut butter M&Ms which I gather from the fact they're always on sale, that they aren't popular) but my husband loves ALL M&Ms and wasn't impressed! I'm interested in the coconut ones mentioned above -- I'll have to keep my eyes open, haven't seen those here yet.

Oct. 7, 2010 4:58 am
I have a bowl of them sitting out on in plain view of all who enter hoping to entice someone to eat them. So far, after a week, no takers! They're pretty. ;)

Oct. 7, 2010 5:27 am
I'm with Kathleen, a good chocolate covered pretzel is better. I didn't notice a missing color but then the bag was inhaled by the teen. He's not so picky about his candy!

Oct. 7, 2010 5:29 am
Not a winner at my house. Kids thought the pretzel was stale and chewy. Odd for 5 kids not to polish off a bag of M&Ms....!

Oct. 7, 2010 5:38 am
Big disappointment. I thought they would be great, since I love the whole sweet-salty-crunchy thing. But they are pretty tasteless.

Oct. 7, 2010 5:38 am
I didnt think they were anything wonderful but I actually liked them better than other types of m&ms(except peanut butter!). Not as good as a good chocolate covered pretzel or anything though. I found the coconut m&ms at Dollar Tree and I was disappointed in those, they had no coconut flavor.

Oct. 7, 2010 5:49 am
I really wanted to like them, and finally it figured out - I eat them one at a time, letting the chocolate melt, then eating the pretzel. It's the only way to taste the salt, and its really good! And you save some caleries while you're at it.

Oct. 7, 2010 6:58 am
I tried them when we went to the states and didn't like them. As others have stated, not enough chocolate and the pretzel was hard. I also tried the coconut M&M's and loved them.

Oct. 7, 2010 7:13 am
No, I do not like them. Will never buy them again. Love the plain, peanut, almond and oooooo, the dark, but pretzel, no.

Oct. 7, 2010 7:23 am
They're not bad, but could definitely use some more chocolate. Those crispy m&m's were fabulous... wish they would bring those back, too.

Oct. 7, 2010 7:23 am
Not a bit fan, but then again I don't eat alot of candy, etc. They would be OK if they were crunched up and attached to something.. or blended into ice cream or whatever. But on their own.. :(

Oct. 7, 2010 7:24 am
That should read "big" - still haven't finished my first cuppa.

Oct. 7, 2010 7:33 am
You should take them off the shelf!! Compared to other M&M's they suck!! Nothing will ever beat M/M peanut candies...

Oct. 7, 2010 7:56 am
I don't like them and will not buy them again. I agree with some of the other reviews, not enough choclate. Cocanut M&M are okay. I did find them at Walmart. Peanut M&M are my fav.....

Oct. 7, 2010 9:49 am
agree with most posts. the pretzels are just hard bits. not tasty at all. have tried the coconut mms but don't care for those either. not enough coconut flavor. love the rest of the line.

Oct. 7, 2010 10:08 am
I really really like them. I also really really like the peanut butter and strawberry m&m's.

Oct. 7, 2010 10:36 am
I LOVE pretzels and chocolate, so thought this would be a big new favorite. After trying them- not what I imagined. I think the pretzel nugget is too big/dry and it lacks the salt factor that makes chocolate covered pretzels so awesome. I'll stick with the peanut M&M's- was a big disappointment.

Oct. 7, 2010 10:53 am
I do not like them, Sam I am!! ;) (Sorry Dr. Seuss.) Couldn't taste the chocolate. But then, I'd rather eat chocolate chips than M&M's any day, because of the candy coating.

Oct. 7, 2010 11:04 am
I couldnt wait to try these when i first saw the commercials because i love chocolate covered pretzels but these were not good at all! They taste just like Whopper chocolates and i've always tought those were gross...big dissapointment.

Oct. 7, 2010 11:48 am
I was hoping to taste the salty pretzel impact, but really couldn't. I probably won't buy again.

Oct. 7, 2010 11:57 am
Dont like them.

Oct. 7, 2010 11:59 am
I LOVE the pretzel M&M's. They do not claim to be chocolate covered pretzels so they will not taste like chocolate covered pretzels. They taste like pretzel M&M's, which happens to be VERY good.

Oct. 7, 2010 12:10 pm
i love them!

Oct. 7, 2010 12:11 pm
Looks like they are not a hit and we probably should not expect them to become a staple in the stores. With many people not liking them, I am surprised they even bothered coming out with this variety. They should have conducted more research into this product as I am sure it is costing the company. I still haven't finished my bag yet either....I will probably end up tossing them. I could have bought something tastier with that $2.99.....

We love most of the M&M products, but even my sweet addicted hubby didn't eat many of the pretzel ones. I prefer my pretzels dipped in ice cream! I have never posted before but had to put my two cent in on this one.

Oct. 7, 2010 12:41 pm
Wow...I'm surprised to see so many people not liking them. My daughters and I LOVE them! I totally get the salty/sweet flavor out of them and the pretzels don't seem too hard to me. I didn't care for the Crispy M&Ms, so it doesn't really bother me that they used the blue bag for the new pretzel variety. I hadn't noticed the lack of yellow pretzel M&Ms until you pointed it out here, though! I, too, wonder why they left him out!

Oct. 7, 2010 1:10 pm
I love 'em but nobody else in the fam does. They are pretty crunchy. Even still, I put mine in the fridge because I like cold chocolate, lol, and that makes them even crunchier!

Has anyone had the peanut butter and strawberry flavored ones? A co-worker had them...I guess they were supposed to be like PB and J. The strawberry flavor was in the shell...were a bit weird initially...

Oct. 7, 2010 5:24 pm
I haven't tried the pretzel M&Ms. I did find one little store in my town that had the coconut ones. They were very yummy, but once they were gone, they were gone! I'd take my fill of those cocoanut ones ... ya'll can have the pretzel ones

Oct. 7, 2010 5:29 pm
i love them and will not go back to the ones with the nuts again,it gives you the salt and sweet taste all in 1

Oct. 7, 2010 5:59 pm
I am an M & M fan too. I have had the pretzel ones and I love them. I do not believe I have seen the coconut ones but if I did, I would buy those too! Kinda like a Almond Joy bar. I have not had an M & M that I didn't like. For everyone but 'Mauigirl', has anyone been to the M & M store in Vegas? OMGosh! Fabulous Colors and Super Cool Fun stuff!! yyyaaaa

Oct. 7, 2010 6:01 pm
Mauigirl, you know I Wuv ya, and I know you have been over there puttin them in the coke you got next door! LOL

Oct. 7, 2010 6:53 pm
I love the pretzel M&Ms! They only way they could be made better is for them to put a little dab of peanut butter in the middle of the pretzel. Yum! So far, they're my fave of all the M&Ms!

Oct. 7, 2010 7:03 pm
Patty Cakes, I haven't been there in a long time, but maybe that could be a field trip when you all come to LV. After reading this blog, I realized that I didn't know there were so many flavors of M&M's. I can't get past the classic Oreo and there are all kinds now. Only tried the golden ones and I just didn't get it......Oreos are chocolate...period :)

Oct. 7, 2010 8:21 pm
Haven't tried the pretzel M&M's, but did not care for the coconut ones. Now the crispy ones were a different story. I bought them often and was never able to get home with them, and I was the one who ate them all.

Oct. 7, 2010 8:34 pm
I felt like I had to eat more pretzel M&M's to get fully satisfied. My favorite kind are the mint M&M's. Nothing says Christmas more than mint M&M's.

Oct. 7, 2010 8:38 pm
I know--I want purple M&M's! Why not? I mean, I'm sure they have them if you go to the fancy M&M store in NY, but not all of us can get up there. I want a full rainbow in each packet! Ever since I was a kid, I've always arranged them in lines by color to make a rainbow (it's a hard habit to break, lol). I'd be so happy if they'd complete the rainbow! As for flavors, I'm not a big fan of the pretzel ones, but I know several people who are. Sweet and salty flavors together really isn't my thing. I usually want either/or. My favorites are the Peanut M&M's and Peanut Butter M&M's... yummy!

Oct. 7, 2010 8:59 pm
C'mon! Tell me where you purchased your coconut M&M's! Keri, I am glad you guys like the pretzel M&Ms. The blue bag isn't an issue with me, it is a different color blue. This is more of a navy blue color whereas the Crispy M*M's has an aqua or bright blue bag. What is the deal with leaving the yellow M&Ms out of the mix.....hmmmmm......

Oct. 7, 2010 9:05 pm
I really like the pretzel M&M's. I also tried the coconut M&M's. Not a fan of those.

I have been wanting to try the pretzel ones, but have not found them, which is odd. When I ask, they say they are sold out. I have rarely met any candy I don't like though, so I anticipate at least liking them. M&Ms rock in any form, in my opinion!!!

I just love the sweet & salty combination so I was excited to try the new Pretzel M&M's but, they were a very big disappointment. I never leave any candy sit around for too long after the bag is open and I don't think I have even finished the bag. I threw it out. It seemed like the company didn't really want to add any flavor to the things or add chocolate. Like we wouldn't notice?!?!

Absolutely DELICIOUS! It took me a while to find them too and I was actually on a mission to locate them but I was really surprised by how good they were.

Oct. 8, 2010 2:46 am
I do like them, though yes, they could use a little more chocolate around that pretzel ball LOL! I used to LOVE to have a bowl of mini prezels and m&m's near me when working long days typing, so when I saw these I thought they'd be good. I think they are good, but my bowl of prezels and M&M's were probably better. I will buy them again (since I have a coupon lol) but my favorite will always be the peanut butter m&m's, now those babies are trouble! I did try the coconut, they were just okay, but then to be fair, I'm not a big coconut fan anyway. I do love the mint m&m's that come out around Christmas though!

I like choc covered pretzels but was kinda disappointed that these weren't that good. To me the balance of salty and sweet isn't quite right. I don't hate them but I was hoping they would be better! Does anyone know about the cherry m&m's? I found them around the same time as the coconut ones but haven't seen them since :(

What a fun blog! Interesting comments. I love the commercial and have been looking for a bag of the pretzel M&Ms so far with no luck (and I live in a big city!!). After reading many of your comments I don't think I will keep looking. By the way, my favorites are the original M&Ms.

Didn't care for them much to my surprise. I haven't tried the coconut ones, how would you rate them?

Oct. 8, 2010 6:04 am
My husband and I love them! It kind of puts you in the mindset of a malted ball (I think that's what it's called) at first but then you get the salty flavor a little more. Favorite is still the good ole original chocolate ones though :)

We liked the pretzel m&ms, but didn't loove them. Managed to get thru a large bag from BJs. Agree they need more chocolate! My Mounds and Almond joy loving daughter loved the coconut m&ms. can't remember where I found them, maybe Target?

Oct. 8, 2010 6:21 am
Ya, these are dangerously delicious! Missing color....really? They don't sit in my hand long enough for me to acknowledge colors. I love 'em. Too much. WAY too much!

I have tried both the coconut and pretzel M&M's and really do not care for either one. Won't buy them again, I'll stick to my favorite the Peanut and just plain chocolate.

Oct. 8, 2010 7:12 am
I think the occasional appearance (and disappearance) of new M&M flavors may be a very useful tool for marketing M&Ms in general.

Oct. 8, 2010 7:16 am
I just noticed that we have the Pretzel & the Coconut & the dark chocolate all available in the vending machine from the 9th circle of hell here in our office

i never noticed the missing color! lol i really like pretzel m'n'ms but mostly i just like chocolate, so anything with chocolate... i like! except for coconut m'n'ms - i didn't like those

Even tho my family loves M&Ms,we do not like the pretzel M&Ms or the coconut. I got them both at Walgreens. Personally, I think the pretzels are ok if there is no other chocolate available, but the coconut are not worth the calories. I bought a bag for a party, and half of them were left and have been sitting here for about 6 mo. No one will eat them.

Oct. 8, 2010 7:37 am
I love them <3 I even got a huge bag at Sam's Club.... I like that I can just have a few and be satisfied!!

Oct. 8, 2010 8:01 am
Unless they made them with dark chocolate I wouldn't bother trying them. I wish they made all flavors of M&Ms available in dark chocolate. Does anyone else find the commercial for pretzel M&Ms vulgar and nauseating? I don't like the trend of humanizing food in commercials. When you really think about it, it makes you feel like a cannibal every time you eat frosted shredded wheat or M&Ms.

I found the Coconut M&M's at WalMart and Target. I was not thrilled. Give me the dark M&M's or peanut butter M's anyday!!

Oct. 8, 2010 8:09 am
You know.....I haven't tried the dark M&M's either. I live in a big city and our Target *just* got the Pretzel M&Ms. I have been clipping coupons for them all summer, but I couldn't find them anywhere after looking until last week.

I did not enjoy them at all. I bought a snack size bag and couldn't even finish it. I do not understand the draw for these. I would much rather have a chocolate covered pretzel. These M&M's taste nothing like that. In fact, they have very little taste at all.

Oct. 8, 2010 8:12 am
Wow...never imagined so many people hated them! They're impossible to find on the shelves here in WV and my boyfriend loves them! He bought the big bag and he keeps them in the freezer. I'm a fan, but I would much rather just eat the plain old M&M's :)

they really arent that great. they taste like the m&m crisp which im not too fond of and they taste nothing like chocolate covered pretzels.

We thought they were horrible. Never buy them again.

Oct. 8, 2010 8:56 am
I love chocolate covered pretzels but these, not so much. They just don't have that salty goodness of a chocolate covered prezel!

Oct. 8, 2010 9:02 am
They were so disappointing that not even the kids would finish them, and I usually need to hide anything sweet from them or it's gone in a day.

If I want a pretzel with my m&m, I'll buy a bag of pretzels. I don't like the idea of paying for m&ms that are not filled with chocolate... cheaper for them to make (less chocolate) and no special benefit to the consumer. Besides, grocery stores are so cramped for shelf space as it is. We don't need another new version of a time tested classic. There are WAY TOO MANY CHOICES out there and marketers cannot supply everything. So stop it already!

Oct. 8, 2010 9:08 am
they are ok..better to make your own chocolate covered pretzels. So easy. www.travelbyfork.com

I thought the pretzel M&M's were okay...but they needed a layer of peanut butter to top them off! I LOVE the peanut butter M&M's and the coconut ones, too! I refuse to buy the coconut ones because I would eat toooo many!

Not sure how the Pretzel M&Ms made it through the test market phase because they are not very good and no one seems to like them. The chocolate/pretzel ratio is way off.

Oct. 8, 2010 10:05 am
I LOVE them! They are my absolute new favorite candy. I'm pretty sure I could eat the whole big bag in one sitting. :)

Oct. 8, 2010 10:16 am
Sadly disappointed in these new M&Ms. There isn't enough chocolate! You mostly taste the pretzel.

Oct. 8, 2010 10:26 am
I think there is just too darn much candy on the market these days. Do we really need this much candy? EVERY holiday has huge displays of candy candy candy, its all the same poop, just colored different for each season. Just a thought. Candy is dandy, but veggies will keep you healthy. I'm with MaryK above. If you let the coating and the chocolate melt off in your mouth, then you can taste the salty pretzel. My hubby said no and my son was not impressed either. I finished the bag doing the above.

Oct. 8, 2010 11:13 am
I love M&M's however I do not like the pretzel, they seemed really dry and don't have much flavor, maybe if they had more chocolate.

Oct. 8, 2010 11:32 am
I didnt really think were all that. I have found the pb&j ones though. Kinda weird, but tasty. I really like the traditional ones though. Put some in a glass of milk, and I am back to my childhood again. :)

Oct. 8, 2010 11:39 am
We tried a bag yesterday and neither one of us cared for them...they tasted stale and not crunchy. We won't buy these again! We prefer the Peanut M&M's. We haven't found the coconut ones in our area as yet.

To be honest, I love them. I regret that they'll probably be gone soon, or changed- because apparently the majority of folks aren't pleased. Rats! Guess I should stockpile some.

I love chocolate and I love pretzels, but was disappointed about the pretzel M&M's. I think there's just not enough chocolate in them. Maybe if they made them larger it would help? All I taste is the crunchy shell and then pretzel inside.

I like them, but then, I like almost all M&M's (including the peanut butter and jelly ones). They're definitely not as good as a chocolate pretzel. The coconut ones are available at K-Mart and Walmart and were pretty good.

I tried them once and that was enough. But, peanut butter M&Ms -- now that is a different story. Wonderful!!!

Oct. 8, 2010 1:36 pm
I agree they're ok, but I had hoped they would be M&M's covered pretzels, not pretzel dust in M&M's - that's what I get for thinking! :)

Tried them didn't like them. But love the M&M commercials!

Oct. 8, 2010 2:32 pm
I thought the pretzel ones were ok, but could barely taste chocolate. I probably won't buy them again. I found coconut ones at Wal-greens over a year ago and loved them. Then they dissappeared... but I just recently found them again! I hope they stay around.

I live in SW Missouri and I've seen the coconut at about every store I've been in, Wal-Mart, Dollar General, Ramey's, Dollar Tree, etc., definitely no shortage here. I did like these alot. The pretzel were ok.

I am shocked by these reviews, especially the ones saying they must not have done research. In the Walmart and Target near me, the shelf space for these goodies is EMPTY because people buy them as fast as they stock them. I have them in my office and have become the office with the best candy! Personally, I love the mix of salty and sweet and like the amount of chocolate.

I actually found them this morning not long after I posted before. They were okay, but I don't think I would go out of my way to buy them again.

Oct. 8, 2010 3:22 pm
Too much pretzel and not enough chocolate. Yuck.

Oct. 8, 2010 3:57 pm
I love them. I have convinced myself that they are good for me since they have pretzels in them.

Oct. 8, 2010 4:00 pm
I was hopeful, but not impressed. I love the whole theory of salty and sweet, but these were not enough chocolate and too much pretzel. Would have been alot better if they had chunked up the pretzel and floated it in chocolate. Doubt I'd rebuy.

Oct. 8, 2010 4:00 pm
I love every other M&M they have made!! Especially the peanut butter...I am not a fan of the pretzal M&Ms. I did make a chocolate chip cookie recipe with the pretzal m&ms added with the choc chips and people raved over them....but sure not a fan of them alone...sorry:(

I absolutely love them!!! I bought the huge bag and didn't last too long between 4 people. They could use a thicker coating of chocolate but I love the sweet and salty combo!!

I like chocolate covered pretzels or most chocolate covered items, but not pretzel m&m's. I felt it was lacking something, but I can't figure out what.

Oct. 8, 2010 4:43 pm
They are ok but the coconut ones are delicious!

Oct. 8, 2010 4:57 pm
I don't eat this kind of stuff anymore because of diabetes. Plus, I like to keep my body fat percentage at about 4%. But if I would eat them, I would mix the regular, peanut, and the pretzel together in a big bowl, chill them for a couple of hours, and sit down to watch a great movie, while dipping my hand, without looking. I could probably finish off the whole bowl by myself.

NO.. Several of my fellow employee's and I tried them and none of us finished the package. Not a winner here.

Not my favorite, reminds me of the texture of whoppers which are gross to me.

Oct. 8, 2010 5:56 pm
I thought the pretzel ones were pretty good. I agree they could use more chocolate, but what couldn't? My main disappointment was that there were very few in a bag. I bought one to try them and share with my four kids and we all got like two (seems silly when we'd get a dozen doing the same with plain- maybe not so many with peanut or peanut butter, but they don't seem so scarce). I also am a huge fan of the peanut butter too.

Oct. 8, 2010 6:32 pm
I wasn't into them, they weren't balanced out enough and it seemed more like a crispy M&M. I was sad, as I really love pretzel and chocolate and normally I love most M&Ms too!

Oct. 8, 2010 6:54 pm
Been an M&M fan my whole life, but I have to say: the commercial is the best part of Pretzel M&Ms. Too hard and just not the satisfaction that comes from the plain ol' chocolate M&M fix.

Oct. 8, 2010 7:00 pm
"If the Lord had meant for M&Ms to have pretzels in them, He would have made pretzels out of CHOCOLATE!!" ;-)

Oct. 8, 2010 7:35 pm
i like the pretzel m&m's but id probably rather have a chocolate dipped pretzel, i LOVE the peanut butter m&ms and to answer your question about the coconut m&m', im pretty sure you can get them at walgreens, they have them at mine but i havent tried them yet

Not impressed with the Pretzel M&Ms. Most of the bag is still in the cabinet. The coconut ones are AWESOME!

Oct. 8, 2010 8:06 pm
I wanted to buy them since I first heard about them. Finally found them and bought a large bag. My 2 teenage sons and I decided they are highly over-rated. No, I would not buy again. Too much pretzel and not enough chocolate. Hey, what if they, M&M, triple dipped them in chocolate and then the crunchy candy coating?

Oct. 8, 2010 8:31 pm
i'm shocked to see a lot of people don't like them. i absolutely LOVE them!!! i'm on my 2nd 'party size' bag from target-just to be safely stocked LOL. don't worry, they last me a loonngg time. i bought my first party size bag over 2 months ago. they usually come in handy for me when aunt flo comes around. and as for the coconut m&ms, now that is a double yuck! ;P

I love the pretzel m&m's I think they have great flavor but only if you keep them in your mouth until all the chocolate has melted then your tongue is coated in chocolate and then the salty appears. It is fabulous!! anyone who hates them obviously hasn't tried this.

My husband and I both loved them and gobbled them up too quickly. Love the crunch and the hint of salt with sweet.

I guess I'm a purist, if I may. Regular or peanut, straight up! Take the pretzel outta there, man!!!

As a LOVER of chocolate covered pretzles and m&m'S I thought I would love these. I didn't. Don't like the texture or mouthfeel. Would have been better if they were bigger like the peanut or almond ones.

They actually gave me a headache i didnt like them very much not enough salt in the "pretzel" just tasted weird peanut is waaayayy better!

Oct. 9, 2010 1:40 am
We were "eh" about the pretzel M&Ms - new lovers of the peanut butter ones (funny - because I LOVE peanut butter - and did not like peanut butter M&Ms at all when they came out - and didn't eat them for ~20 years - or however long they've been out) . . . And we LOVED the coconut M&Ms. They were originally hard to find - but they eventually even found their way to Costco - if you needed 100 individual bags (=

Oct. 9, 2010 3:14 am
(and, actually, mini M&Ms are my favorite - took me a while to figure out why, but I think it's because the candy coating is thinner - but maybe I'm delusional (= )

Oct. 9, 2010 3:18 am
And, slightly off topic, but I LOVE the Special Dark Pieces - but don't like the Almond Joy pieces. I much preferred the coconut M&Ms to the Almond Joy Pieces . . .

I think they taste like whoppers. Yuck. My favorite is to freeze the almond ones - i can eat a whole bag in a day. Peanut butter is awesome.

I LOVE the coconut M&M's. Agree with all of you who are not thrilled with the pretzel, if you are expecting chocolated covered pretzel you will be disappointed. Peanut Butter & Strawberry are ok but not great. Good ole peanut M&M's are my second fav after coconut. Oh, and you can find them in the weirdest places--the ma & pa corner stores around my neighborhood all have them.

Oct. 9, 2010 4:45 am
WOW! You picked a great topic to get a lot of response. I love the pretzel M&M's. I get a kick out of watching the commercal. They cut off the last part that really makes you lol. "Ok, let's get this over with," says the pretzel. Have you seen the commercal where the hubby is getting a snack for his wife. He's standing in front of the cabnet saying. "get in the bowl" and the M&M's are throwing food at him and they say, "you get in the bowl" then again they won't show the last part where the yel M&M says "you couldn't find a bigger bowl" and he is same size as the bowl...how about the one for signature M&M's where the lady M&M who is purple makes all the other M&M's drop their mouth. I still love the original M&M's and they're my favorite out of all the M&M's. I didn't know there was a coconut-now my son would love that. So there's strawberry? didn't know that either, guess they're making a variety.

Oct. 9, 2010 4:49 am
why mess with a good thing? leave the plain & penut M&M's ALONE!!!

Oct. 9, 2010 7:19 am
I got a few bags while visiting the States in June (I live in Europe, where my husband is stationed) and I enjoyed them, even if there was a bit less chocolate inside the shell. I'd give them a 8 out of 10.

Oct. 9, 2010 7:30 am
I dont like them at all! I Was so excited to try them but it was disappointing.

Oct. 9, 2010 7:34 am
These really miss the mark with me & my family. What were they thinking? Too much pretzel and not enough chocolate. Won't buy again. The coconut M's are okay - after the first few the flavor becomes too artificial tasting. If I want chocolate & coconut I'll take a Mounds Bar.

blech. pretzels are too hard in the middle. They remind me of malt balls. Not too impressed with them. And where's the yellow. Is it protesting? Ha ha ha ha....

Oct. 9, 2010 7:44 am
I tried the pretzel ones, they were okay, i wouldn't buy them again. I liked the coconut ones, might buy again; they were good, I just prefer coconut without chocolate.

Not a fan, although I do love the almond and peanut M & Ms. Won't be buying the pretzel ones again.

Oct. 9, 2010 8:08 am
I loooooove them! I could easily eat a whole bag myself :/ I do enjoy the peanut butter M&M's most, but the pretzels are a close second! :D

Oct. 9, 2010 8:57 am
My fave was the dark chocolate peanut, followed by the almond, then the plain dark chocolate. I can't find the first one anywhere. I've not tried the pretzel ones. I almost dread this time of year because I know there will be bags of candy on sale everywhere and I can't resist my faves. If I find the dark chocolate peanut ones all bets are off! Oh well. Better a few extra pounds than a life of deprivation! ;-)

I am not a fan either....I am a peanut m&m girl myself.

Considering I hadn't met an M&M I didn't like prior to trying these, I met my match. I like chocolate and I liked the pretzel, but I didn't like this particular combo. I miss the Crispy ones.

Definatly not a big fan of them! i'll stick with the Peanut M&M's. Has anyone ever tried the new Peanut butter and Jam M&M's???

Oct. 9, 2010 9:42 am
I actually LOVE the new pretzel M&M's! I'm also a big fan of crunchy, salty with a little sweetness fan. I also tried to coconut M&M's. I love Almond Joys and was hoping they would be filled with that type of filling. NOT! Can't even determine what the filling was but it was flavored coconut and not much flavor to boot.

Oct. 9, 2010 9:51 am
haha, I think they are great....as other have said, would be better if the pretzel was smaller. What about a smaller pretzel covered in peanut butter with a candy shell...that's a novel idea!

I bought a bag with a coupon. Had some and gave the rest to a teen and preteen boy. They finished them but were not impressed. I prefer dark chocolate m&m's. Never heard of coconut m&m's but would try some if I see them.

Having just lost 30# on WW this is about the only chocolate that I allow myself. Half a bag and I'm good to go.

I bumped into these at Shopko long before the ads started running and picked up a bag. Then I picked up another and another. Pretty soon I was making a special trip to Shopko just for them. I love them and so does my whole family. Now they're in most stores and I have to use willpower!

They are okay. If I eat too many, they make me sick.

Do not like them. Not exactly sure why they decided to do it...not enough chocolate and to much pretzel. I don't like the candy shell with the combo either. I am sticking to chocolate covered pretzels. In my opinion - this was a major mistake.

Not a fan. The pretzels aren't salty enough so it kind of just tastes like toast in the middle of my m&m.

We were excited to see the pretzels ones, but were disappointed. No one in the house liked them. Need more chocolate. The coconut were okay, but only a few at a time (unlike the peanut and peanut butter that I can pretty much eat a whole bag of in one sitting!!!) The cherry ones - YUCK!!! They smelled GREAT, but I only ate two and tossed them.

I found them disappointing. Give me a peanut M&M any time.

Oct. 9, 2010 5:19 pm
I am not a fan of the new flavors M&M's has been coming out with. The pretzel and coconut ones are not very appetizing and really don't even fit with the rest of the tastes that M&M's are famous for...

Oct. 9, 2010 5:21 pm
Still waiting for the crispy M&M's in the blue bag to come back out, they were interesting and tasty!

Not a fan. My mom and I bought a bag each while out shopping, and ended up throwing half the bags away. LOVE the peanut butter ones, very addictive!!

Oct. 9, 2010 5:33 pm
I like them, and I like the amount of calories in the bag. I feel like I'm cheating, but at 170 calories, it's not cheating that badly. It's just enough sweet/salty to curb my cravings. Now, the coconut and the PB&J ones......gack!

Oct. 9, 2010 6:25 pm
Got some and they lasted in a household of junk food junkies for about a month which is far to long...not a fan

Oct. 9, 2010 7:03 pm
I like them. They need a little more chocolate though.

Oct. 9, 2010 7:27 pm
how do I like them, not so much. I was able to secure a small bag of the coconut variety at a Highs store in Sykesville MD where I go to visit my dad who has Alzheimers. Anyway, I liked them but you have to like coconut. They were a treat. I love coconut and before I knew it they were all eaten. Guilty!! I'd buy them again if they came out in bigger bags. But, buying the small bags is okay for sampling but not for a real M & M connoisseur who wants to eat them by the handful because that is what is in the small bags...a handful.

I don't like them. I guess there isn't enough chocolate for my liking. I'd definitely rather have a chocolate covered pretzel. A few years ago my hubby and I were in Vegas and the M&M store had caramel filled M&M's they were SOO good! Unfortunately when I wrote M&M to ask about them they said they didn't fare well in the test market. It was before caramel filled hershey kisses were released. I really wish they'd give them a try. They were 1000 times better than pretzel and I'm sure they'd blow the coconut flavor out of the water!

Oct. 9, 2010 8:51 pm
I have a bag sitting in my fridge (Will-Power!). Maybe they need to take the pretzel M&M's one step further and do a peanut butter covered pretzel M&M??? Will-power will be non-existent at the point!!

Oct. 9, 2010 9:01 pm
I wouldn't go out of my way to purchase them. They are okay but I am a purist and love original and almond M&Ms.

Try regular M&M's with Fritos for that sweet and salty fix - delish!

Is anyone keeping tabs on yeas and nays? Count me as a nay, I thought I broke a tooth on the first one I ate, tossed the rest of the bag.

My favorite things to cook
I enjoy making a variety of ice cream, cookies, cakes, and candies. In recent years I have branched out by making new dinner recipes and found that I enjoy the challenge.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I have a daughter that loves to help me bake. We spend Christmas Eve in the kitchen making special cookies for Santa together.
My cooking triumphs
I consider tempering chocolate and making caramels a triumph. You either get it right or your wrong!
My cooking tragedies
I failed several times at trying to make fondant centers for truffles. I decided to put my candymaking book away for a while!
