I was at the commissary a couple of days ago and I saw there was a large basket full of fresh kiwi. I got kiwi in the past, but I tend to forget about it. By the time I decide I want to do something with it, it is ready to toss.

I like to keep my smoothies very simple. I am also not a fan of crunchy ice in my smoothies, so I always make them without. If you like ice, you can simply add some.

Here is the recipe for my Sensational Strawberry Kiwi Zing Smoothie:

1 1/2 cups frozen strawberries

2 kiwi, sliced and skin removed

1 cup orange juice

1 cup vanilla yogurt

Measure each ingredient and pour into a blender. Blend for 30-45 seconds until smooth. You can top with whipped cream (I do!) or garnish with fresh fruit and enjoy! You can easily use all organic ingredients, which I also do for my smoothies.

How did you know I have a few kiwi in the fridge that I need to use? I think I'll try it in the morning. I have some vanilla yogurt so I think I'm all set. Thanks!

Mysweet- have you ever tried it with the skin on the kiwi? SD posted a blog about it once, and now I always leave the skin on. Even my super picky husband hasn't noticed :) This looks awesome and might be my breakfast for tomorrow!

It might also taste better with apple juice, which is what I normally perfer. I didn't have any, so I used orange juice which gives it a bit more of the "zing."

The skin is highly nutritous. Kiwi also freezes beautifully so I buy bunches of it on sale and freeze. Smoothies, yum!

Hezzy, thanks for the review! You can easilt replace the orange juice for apple juice. Yes, my yogurt is thick. I use Stonyfield's Organic Vanilla Yogurt, which comes in a larger container. It has the consistancy of pudding. Thanks again!

Thanks, love your photo and thank you for trying it. To me, it isn't like the best thing in the world, but it is a good smoothie that packs good ingredients for nutrition and the taste is good. The yogurt I use is Stoneyfields's Organic Vanilla Yogurt and it is really thick in texture. Thanks again Fit&Healthy Mom.
