Bake Sale Success

Anytime I have a chance to bake for others, I take it. I am basically the one person in my household who eats sweets. It isn't like I am going to bake an entire batch of cupcakes often because I end up eating as much as I can and throwing the rest in the trash.

Recently, a playgroup that I participate in with my toddler daughter, decided to hold a bake sale to raise funds to support the group. This was my chance to bake away! Here is a list of some of the recipes I used:<<<

I made my recipe for Peanut Butter M&M Chocolate Chip Monster Cookies.e cupcakes.I individually wrapped my larger cookies and I made regular sized ones which I placed on top of buttercream icing on some of the I also made the Lemon Sugar Tea Cookies, which I love.

For the cupcakes, I made cookie dough cupcakes using both yellow and chocolate cake. Some of them were topped with buttercream and others were topped with my recipe for Milky Way Icing. Some of the chocolate cupcakes received store-bough chocolate icing. To dress them up, I used some leftover Marshmallow Fondant and cut a small flower using a cookie cutter. I placed the blue flower on top of the icing.

Last, but not least, I ordered custom stickers with my MySweetCreations name on them. I was able to purchase some clear 6 pack cupcake holders at my local cake specialty store which I packaged some of the cupcakes in, tied with a ribbon and seal with a sticker!

I hope you enjoy the photos!

Hi Kelly:) What did you use for the cake part of your cupcakes? A mix? I have been looking for a good homemade yellow or white cake, so I was just curious. Everything looks fantastic!

You need your own sweet shop! You'd be great at it. Have you tried the spring tea lime cookies on here? They are great also and look like something you would like.

Jessie, I prefer using yellow cake mix for yellow cakes and I mostly use white cake mixes for white cakes because they are moist.

Everything looks wonderful, I could just eat one or two of those cupcakes now! Certainly going to try your milky way icing soon. Back in England those candy bars are called Mars Bars, what we call Milky way is your 3 Muskateers. Its all very confusing but we are getting the hang of it!!

My favorite things to cook
I enjoy making a variety of ice cream, cookies, cakes, and candies. In recent years I have branched out by making new dinner recipes and found that I enjoy the challenge.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I have a daughter that loves to help me bake. We spend Christmas Eve in the kitchen making special cookies for Santa together.
My cooking triumphs
I consider tempering chocolate and making caramels a triumph. You either get it right or your wrong!
My cooking tragedies
I failed several times at trying to make fondant centers for truffles. I decided to put my candymaking book away for a while!
