I frequent the recipe exchange like many others around here.

What do you like about your kitchen the most? Please share!

I think it would be neat to see where everyone cook and bakes! Below are photos of my kitchen. If you would like to share yours, go ahead of post it as a personal photo and copy and paste the link in the comments below!

Oohhhh, I'm jealous. One-my computer isn't functioning right just ask "What's for dinner Mom" so I'm barely able to post what I'm typing. Two-a JennAir, oh the things I could do w/that. You lucky girl DB. I may not be able to give you a picture but I can tell you this; the things I treasure most in my kitchen are my grandma's baking crock, my greatgrandmother's skillets and my Mom's Betty Crocker cookbook w/all her notes in her beautifully small handwriting in the margins. Just today I used the recipe that said "Avalene's favorite" to frost my 17 yr old's BD cake. He said it was the best frosting I've made so far & I'm a disaster at frosting. Thanks for letting me share!

I'm not posting a pic of mine, nobody needs to see my awful green countertops!! Hopefully this summer that will all change!
Feb. 24, 2010 2:25 pm
Totally OT, but where did you get your cupcake courier? I have been looking for something like that for a while. I love to make cupcakes and bring them to people!
Feb. 24, 2010 3:32 pm
At the moment there is not much i like about my kitchen, its sooo small:( we live in a townhouse rght now so maybe that will change. Im looking for houses in the area:-)
Feb. 24, 2010 3:48 pm
My kitchen is super tiny and used to have a nasty 1960's mosaic counter-top (how do you cook with that??) I will take pictures after I clean up dinner :)
Feb. 24, 2010 4:06 pm
I'd really like to post a link, but, I don't really have a kitchen, just a small RV galley...a small stove, smaller oven, a small scale double sink and about 18 x 24 inches of counter space, that's it.
Feb. 24, 2010 4:22 pm
Jessie, I found the Cupcake Courier at Costco. They are only $16.99 there. I was thinking about writing a blog about it. ;)

My tiny kitchen...but I love it!
Feb. 24, 2010 6:37 pm

Not too much you can do when you have such a small kitchen, but I am saving up for new cabinets and countertops. I guess my favorite thing is having the microwave above the stove. It is such a space saver.
Feb. 24, 2010 7:15 pm
Thanks for everyone who posted photos of their kitchens, I have checked them all out! :) I like a lot of things about my kitchen, primarily the colors of the cabinets, granite counters, and my large pantry. My favorite aspect would just be the open layout of the kitchen and I can see the rest of the living areas from the kitchen.

Good blog MSC, I love my kitchen and the best part is my knee nook. I could have had a dish washer but I said No, where will I sit? So at the end of the counter btwn the lazy susan and the fridge in my desk space. I have a nice window with a view out the patio, electricity, to plug in puter, toaster, KA. I pay bills, eat and read all in the same place. My favorite place in the house! Thanks fun blog:)

I am sorry I don't have any pictures of my kitchen. I have just been able to replace all my pots, baking and cooking equipment. After 25 years of marriage you know exactly what you want. It has been great fun. One of my favorite parts of my kitchen is coffee bar. It is nice to have the coffee pot, expresso machine and special coffees all in one place and not on the counters I use for cooking.

I see ya Cat - good to know HAL is cooperative LOL. My fave things are well, everything as it is all new. I had waited 14 years to do it over and it took 3 more years of doing it ourselves. I do love my cookbooks that I keep event notes in kinds like a diary of what was going on in our lives or who brought this recipe over and why... love my gagets too, and dishes, I love being in it creating something with my kids - all the cabinets are open, stuff is everywhere it is a mess sometimes! Guess my ultimate fave thing in it would have to be my family. Korny but true.
Feb. 25, 2010 7:49 am
I posted some pics - come on in to my kitchen - have some of the sour cream coffee cake III I just made, how do you take your coffee?
Feb. 25, 2010 7:56 am
What's for dinner - your coffee cake looks so soft and delicious. I also loved the photos of the bread you make. I even like the little Kaiser Roll Press you have, how neat!
Feb. 25, 2010 9:52 am
Oh, I am green with envy when people post pics of their kitchens! I love certain components of my kicthen - floor tile, backsplash tiles, nice pull-out cabinet where I store my breadmaker, food processor, blender and KA, but over all I really DON'T like my kitchen at the moment! All the appliances are old, not enough natural light, and I really, really miss not having a walk-in pantry like the house I grew up in. I could use a smidge more counter space, too! I guess I don't really hate it, and it is functional but it's not my dream kitchen.
Feb. 25, 2010 12:55 pm
I also lack some natural light in my kitchen too. I take my photos outside on the balcony/patio.
Feb. 27, 2010 8:30 pm
I would take a picture of my kitchen but it isn't anywhere near the quality that yours and everyone elses seems to be. I have one measly counter thats probably 2 feet long and thats it. Oh well I seem to find the space to make my treats so thats all that matters! =D
Feb. 27, 2010 8:35 pm
Love to see others kitchens. I uploaded my pictures to my profile of my oly kitchen (now sold) and Maui kitchen but I can't take a picture of the latest (Las vegas) till it is done. I hate to admit this part, I am a real idiot about cutting and pasting so I could not post here. I guess I should take a class or two. As you can see, I have never had a big kitchen, but I have made some very big meals in spite of it. I always eye the giant kitchens in magazines and dream of walk in pantries and 2 dishwashers and 6 burners. That would require far more space than we live in. I am happy to have what I have :)
Feb. 27, 2010 8:35 pm
Forgot to say how fresh and lovely your kitchen is.
Feb. 27, 2010 8:43 pm
BTW I looked at all your photos and they are beautiful. You are a terrific photographer. Embarrassed for my own now :(
Feb. 27, 2010 11:05 pm
Mauigirl, both of your kitchens are beautiful. I have played around with photographing food since I joined AllRecipes. I tame my photos outside in the natural daylight, and I recently began using scrapbooking paper as my background. It is as easy as that! Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate your comments. :)

It's fun seeing everyone's kitchen! I'll post pics of mine on my blog but it always brings up a "what you get for the money" thing in my mind...we briefly lived in FL and paid $795 for a brand new 1100 sq. foot apt. which came with a new stove, built in microwave, fridge, washer/dryer, central air whereas here in So Cal we pay almost $1300 for a shoebox without a fridge or microwave included and a very old box air conditioner that doesn't do much! My kitchen here is old and cramped but oh well, I still have fun in there.
Feb. 28, 2010 8:48 am
Didn't mean on my blog, meant to say on my profile page!

I love my kitchen, although I would always love more cupboard space. My house is new, lived here less than 12 months but my previous house had an older kitchen but double the cupboard space. Guess you can't have it all!! I do have various photos of my kitchen listed under my personal photos.

Wow Apple.Studel, I love your kitchen and I loved browsing through all of your lovely photos. You but on a good brunch/buffet! Where did you get those mini chalkboard signs? Those are so neat. Thanks for sharing!
Mar. 3, 2010 5:31 pm
The mini chalkboard signs were from ebay, a seller on there made them especially for me. I have tried to buy more but she is no longer listed, looked only a few weeks a go. Which is such a shame. I have just brought some little wooden hanging ones from World Market in packs of two for $3,99. (Plan on paining the edges cream) Thank you for your kind words MSC, your photos are a true inspiration.
Mar. 3, 2010 7:54 pm
Thanks for sharing about the mini chalkboards. I really enjoyed your photos. I noticed how you even set up a nice tray next to your coffee/espresso machines. ;)
Mar. 4, 2010 11:38 am
The tray is only when we have visitors! Usually everything is stored in the pantry...
Mar. 5, 2010 7:45 pm
Hey April, it is funny that you mentioned that because I just started one a couple of weeks ago! Here is the link: http://tastingmysweetcreations.blogspot.com/

I just looked at the custom candy bar wrappers that you ordered for your daughter's 4th bday... so cute! I didn't see any other way to contact you so I thought I would post on your blog and cross my fingers. Can you share where you ordered the custom wrappers from please? I have looked on etsy.com but haven't seen any quite like the ones you ordered and I love them! Thanks! BTW, I follow your profile and the recipes that you make, review and post pictures of. I love seeing what your up to! Your sweet creations look fantastic!

I have used a couple of different sellers on eBay. If you scroll through my blogs, you will see different sets that I used last year for my daughter's birthday and also for a baby shower. I also get water bottle labels, stickers, and candy wrappers. You can do an search under party supplies on eBay for wrappers or labels and they should come up. Here is the link to the lady I used last year, she branched away from eBay and has her own site now: http://www.wittlethangz2.com/

Thanks so much I will definitely check out the wrappers and sites! Both my girls birthday parties are next month so I'm in full swing planning. My older daughter is having a sweet shoppe themed party so the custom candy wrappers will be great!

About Me
I am a Southern California wife and mother of one. I am a simple person that enjoys home decor, baking, and spending time with my family. You can also find me on YouTube - House of Aqua: http://www.youtube.com/user/HouseOfAqua/videos?sort=dd&flow=list&page=1&view=0
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy making a variety of ice cream, cookies, cakes, and candies. In recent years I have branched out by making new dinner recipes and found that I enjoy the challenge.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I have a daughter that loves to help me bake. We spend Christmas Eve in the kitchen making special cookies for Santa together.
My cooking triumphs
I consider tempering chocolate and making caramels a triumph. You either get it right or your wrong!
My cooking tragedies
I failed several times at trying to make fondant centers for truffles. I decided to put my candymaking book away for a while!
