Cinnamon Raisin Bread II

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2012
I had a few problems with it mixing (flour just sat on top undisturbed), so it didn't really rise either. I'm not sure whether it was a bread machine error or I did something wrong (not sure about that since all I did was dump it in the order listed). In the end, I guess it worked, but the flavor wasn't dynamic enough for me to attempt a second time. Good, but not great.

I agree with one other reviewer to add more onion, but aside from this - it was great! Just as I remember from childhood! Keep in mind that this recipe makes a ton. I cut it half and still had plenty for both hubby and myself for a couple of meals.

This is GREAT as is, but I will double the veggies next time because we don't eat rice. Fantastic recipe!

Blackberry Cobbler II

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2010
Fabulous! I didn't have 4 cups worth of blackberries, so I only used 2 cups and halved the mixture. I used a small pyrex dish since I don't have a cast iron skillet and it still came out great! Will definitely make again and probably experiment with different kinds of fruit too.

Lamb Tagine

I made this along with her couscous and it was fabulous! I've never had this dish anywhere before, so I'm not sure how it compares authentically, but I will definitely make it again someday. The recipe said this makes 4 servings, which might be the case if this is the only thing you eat, but if you're serving other dishes at the same time, you could probably cut this in half.

I honestly wasn't sure I'd like the mint, but it's great! Amazingly good!

Throw in a little garlic salt and mmm mmm! AWESOME healthier alternative to frying in batter!

Kalua Pig in a Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2009
I used only a 3 lb roast, but cooked the same amount of time and it was WONDERFUL! So tender you can easily pull apart with your fingers. One thing I added: I used a knife to cut deep slits in the meat and inserted thickly sliced chunks of garlic. I received rave reviews for it at a potluck dinner!
