Grilled Salmon I

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2004
Delicious! This is the best salmon we've ever cooked at home. We used a 1 lb salmon steak and substituted lemon juice and ground pepper for the lemon pepper. Thanks for the wonderful recipe.

Wonderful Fried Fish Tacos

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2004
Excellent recipe! My husband and I make these regularly. They don't lack zip at all if you use spicy salsa (try Green Mountain Gringo Hot) and a healthy dousing of lime juice.

Tuna Curry in a Hurry

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2004
Surprisingly good combination. I used half the butter (1T) and sour cream (1/2c) as well as twice the curry powder (2t). Thanks, Sara.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Flavor is pretty good, but in my opinion, needs more pumpkin and spices. Thanks anyway.

Caldo Verde (Portuguese Green Soup)

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2004
Excellent. Used smoked Polish sausage, instead of linguica, which I'll be sure to try next time. Still turned out wonderfully. Thanks.

Brussels Sprouts in Mustard Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2004
I really, really wanted to like this. Perhaps I did something wrong. The sauce was very pastey.

Very good. I would recommend using less egg noodles.

Salmon in Lemon-Dill Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2006
Very good flavor. Would probably reduce butter next time and perhaps use fresh herbs, but overall this is a keeper.

Pumpkin Maple Pie Supreme

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2007
I tested this recipe before making it for our Thanksgiving gathering. I loved it the way it is written (except for using canned pumpkin), but based upon a lot of feedback from others, I reduced both the ginger and nutmeg to 1/2 t. and reduced the brown sugar to 1/2 cup. With those minor adjustments, most people who tried it on Thanksgiving said it was the best pumpkin pie ever! Thanks!

Yum. Left out the sugar and it was still plenty sweet for me.

Delicious! We make this all the time. Works well with Ribeye as well. Good with leftover steak warmed in the oven.

Truly the best banana bread I've ever made. My only alteration was to cut the sugar by 1/4 cup. Yum.

Tuna Noodle Casserole II

Very good recipe as is. Second time, doubled the tuna, used sharp cheddar, saltines on top, and substituted 1 cup regular milk for the evaporated.

Old Fashioned Prune Cake

Reviewed: May 21, 2008
Very yummy cake. I did not have nuts to put into this cake, so I reduced the sugar in both the cake and the glaze by 1/2 cup. Perfectly sweet this way. The only problem I had was that I overheated the glaze and the buttermilk curdled, so I strained it and used it anyway. I think that keeping the heat very low and constantly stiring the glaze would have prevented this from happening.

Delicious!! Like other reviewers, I cut the sugar to 2 cups. I also substituted half whole wheat pastry flour and added 1/4 c buttermilk. What a perfect summertime treat! Thanks.
