Cioppino

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2010
I only add a can of diced tomatoes and use two fresh tomatoes to replace the other can of tomatoes since I feel the soup taste too salty already. I cut the butter to about two tbsp instead of 3/4 cups for healthier alternative. The soup taste very good, and my sister-in-law kept telling me how good the soup taste even though she's not a big seafood fan. This dish will be one of my favorite from Allrecipes.com.

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2010
I LOVE this carrot cake but since I don't like my cake too sweet, I down the white sugar to 3/4 of a cup and use 1/2 of brown sugar and 1/4 white sugar instead of all white. On the frosting, I only use 1 cup of confectioner's sugar instead of 4, and I still find it a tab sweet, so next time I probably only use 3/4 cup instead of 1. And cut the butter to about 1/3 or even 1/4. Since I have an electric oven, I don't think it needs 30-40 mins, probably 25 should be plenty. Will def make it again soon!!

Easy Vodka Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2010
I made the vodka sauce and follow the recipe to a T. I added some seared scallops and sea bass on top of the pasta then pour the sauce on top of it. It totally amazed my family and everyone rave about the dish for weeks afterward. Will keep this recipe as one of my favorite.

Grandma Johnson's Scones

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2009
Best scone recipe ever!!! I was searching for a good recipe that is suitable for my brother's coffee shop and this is the best one so far. The texture is perfect, crispy outside, soft and moist inside. It actually DOES taste better than the Starbucks one. I made a bunch and freeze the doughs into preshaped scone, and just toss in the oven whenever I want. It doesn't taste as good if you bake them all and reheat them the second time, since the skin can't be as crispy as the freshly baked ones. Tip: Make sure use a good brand of butter, it makes a HUGE difference.
