My Navy Bean Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2008
Very tasty and filling soup, a litle salty but I should have used reduced sodium broth as another reviewer suggested, otherwise this soup is a great find.

Nanny's Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2008
This was pretty good, after I had it simmering for awhile, I used a dash of allspice, I felt it needed something, good basic recipe though

Oat Snack Mix

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2008
I gave 4 stars because of the expense to servings ratio, It seems a small amount for the price of all the ingredients. The snack mix was okay, my sister loved it, I actually think that the cereal, walnuts, cranberries, choc cov raisins, etc are tasty alone and doesnt need gussied up. This is just my opinion. I enjoy trying new things, Thank you for sharing.

Sauerkraut-Stuffed Slow-Cooked Pork Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2008
This very simple recipe is wonderful, Im already wanting it again and I just made it 2 days ago, very moist and flavorful, I almost didnt make this because I was worried about the childrens reaction to saurkraut, but I like it so much that I went ahead, and Im pleased to say everyone ate this right up.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2008
The reason I gave a 4 star review for this simple soup is because its ingredient list isnt a mile long, it doesnt take hours of prep, and its not expensive, it leaves plenty of room for personal modification, yet is delish just as is. Thank you!

Lasagna Spinach Roll-Ups

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2008
Ive made a variation of this recipe for awhile and the prep time and expense is so great that this one looked a bit easier and less expensive, It turns out the savings in prep time is just slight, as was the expense, I liked the flavor, but I didnt love it, as a matter of personal taste I prefer ricotta cheese to cottage, and roasted red peppers to just the plain ones. Thanks for sharing.

Strawberry Fluff

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2008
My Grandma made this every Sunday, She sometimes used peach jello with peaches for the fruit, orange w/ mandarin oranges...etc..It's always good. Ive never heard of anyone preparing the jello then adding the other ing. Ive only seen, and eaten this using the jello powder and combining w/ other ing. I am following this recipe as was one my Grandma had as well. My toddler and teen loves this stuff, no changes here.

Stuffed Celery

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2008
This is a great snack. Because Im on a super tight budget, walnuts couldn't be used, so I used sunflower seeds, it was very tasty, but made it a bit more salty. I want to try the walnuts and as soon as they are on special, I will!

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2009
This sauce is excellent, I usually use ground chuck for meatballs to get that hearty beef flavor so I did do that, It tasted even better the next day and we all ate it right up. I will make this again.

Nacho Cheese Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2009
This is not too bad, easy and inexpensive as all ing. are usually on hand so in a pinch it seems great for a veggie or soft pretzel topping, I also tried white cheddar and it was pretty good too.

Spanish Beef and Rice

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2009
I was the only person at our dinner table to eat this, I think the amount of chili powder was a turn off...probably because we aren't used to it. I may try it again and skip it, however preparing recipe as is, I would rate a 3. THANK YOU FOR SHARING.

Beef Tips and Noodles

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2009
I was happy to find and try this recipe, I only modified it by adding 1 more can cr. mush soup and 1 C. milk and using my slow cooker instead of oven for a quick weeknight dinner. My husband really liked it, and my 2 yr old ate his whole serving and none ended up on the floor...good sign! This will be in my regular dinner rotation... I love the idea that it worked out so well with my crockpot.

I am going to try this again but without the canned onion soup, it lends an odd sweetness my husband and I didn't like.
