I have made this several times now (mainly for birthdays) and it is ALWAYS a huge hit. I personally think the baking time of 25 minutes is way too short, even when divided into 9" rounds, I always have to add at least 10 minutes, sometimes 15. Also, the recipe doesn't call for it, but I whisk the egg whites a bit, otherwise it can come out too dense. One last recommendation, a "light" frosting is best, the cake is so flavorful and rich, a straight buttercream frosting can be too sweet, using a heavy cream instead of milk or even adding some whipped topping to the frosting can help "cut" the sweetness. All that being said, this is a GREAT recipe and good as is.
