Creamiest Rice Pudding

Reviewed: May 1, 2014
This recipe is excellent. We think it tastes just like Kozy Shack's. I always make it in the crock pot. I throw the 1/2 gallon milk, 1 cup white rice, and 1 cup of milk in the crock pot and cook on high for 3 hours, stirring midway. I then mix in the 1/4 cup milk, three eggs, and vanilla slowly, whisking the entire time until mixed. Then I put the lid on and wait 20-30 minutes. I cool and store the pudding in the fridge while leaving it in the crock pot. We don't put anything else in it at all. I love it as-is. Enjoy!

Quick Yeast Rolls

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2009
Personally, I don't understand why anyone wouldn't like these rolls. They are delicious. They have a great yeast flavor and are very simple to make. You don't have to knead them and that takes out all of the work that goes into making rolls. The batter is gooey and that's how it's supposed to be. Try them as according to the recipe before you try to modify them! I'll never modify them. Oh, another thing. Now the recipe did say that this makes 8 rolls. We made 9 and they were pretty tall. I think we could even go with the whole 12 in the muffin tin next time and still have a big enough roll.

Easy Grilled Lemon Chicken

This is a delicious recipe. I think this recipe would work really great with grilled chicken wings. I plan on making wings this way in about a week.

Irish Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2009
I've had better and I've had worse. I probably would think it was better if I was in Ireland. I thought this dish was very greasy. I would eat it again if I were served it at someone's home. But the next time I want something Irish, I'll try some recipe other than this one. This is not the worst thing I've ever tasted though.

Grandma's Sweet Slaw

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2009
This is the typical slaw you'll find in most of the south. We usually add a little salt to it around here. And we usually add more mayo than this recipe calls for. It's a good, cheap side dish.

Sweet Sausage 'n' Beans

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2009
It was good. You can make this a skillet dish by cooking the onions first and then changing the limas and other veggies to canned varieties.

Wonton Wrappers

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2009
Thanks so much for this absolutely terrific recipe!! I've never made anything like this before and really thought it would be impossible to make these at home, but I tried the recipe and found they are actually BETTER than the chinese restaurant versions I have tried. I stuffed them with a small amount of cream cheese and sealed the edges with a little water before I deep fried them. They are great. Will definitely make these again. I LOVE them!

Beef and Rice Dish

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2008
Very, Very good. I will make again. I precook ground beef, drain it and then freeze it. I also buy green peppers on sale and dice then freeze them. I used frozen beef and peppers in this dish and cut the prep time in half just by making that switch. I also used leftover rice for this recipe. I didn't use any monterey jack cheese... I only used 16 ounces of mozzarella. The results were wonderful! (I should also add that if you do use leftover rice for this recipe, only use about 3 cups and omit the beef broth and water. Instead prepare beef boullion in about a 1/2 cup of water and mix into the pan then simmer a few minutes before topping with the cheese.)

Apple Slump

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2008
I used frozen apples. It worked like a charm. I didn't make the nutmeg sauce. We were satisfied with the results. It served the purpose of being a sweet dessert which is what I wanted, and it was quicker than a cobbler for me. I plan to make it again. It didn't take me 1 1/2 hours to make this like the recipe said. It probably took about 35 minutes total.

Quick and Easy Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2008
this is good. I will probably make this again. I always precook chicken, cut into chunks and then freeze it. To make this recipe, I just throw about a pound or 2 of frozen chicken in the pan and make the recipe as written.

Oatmeal and Applesauce Pancakes

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2008
These are the BEST pancakes I have EVER had in my WHOLE life! I did add a couple of handfuls of blueberries to the batter, but other than that I followed the recipe exactly. I will DEFINITELY make again, and I plan to make them for the rest of my life.

Butterscotch Brownies I

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2008
These were not that great. I probably won't make them again. They were too flat and were not thick enough for me. However, they would work if you were really wanting something sweet to eat but only have the basic ingredients on hand. That would be the only time I would ever consider making them again.

Cream Cheese Squares

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2008
Very, very good! You could probably make these with only 8 ounces of cream cheese and half of the sugar if that's all you have on hand, and they'd still be good.

Pizza Dough I

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2008
If you're looking for a dough that is like a good restaurant's hand tossed style crust, this is it. This is the only kind of crust I use for pizzas anymore. I don't do frozen pizzas anymore thanks to this dough!
