Moroccan Chicken Sann

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2009
Wow! What a tasty meal! The only difference I made was to use cut up chicken breast instead of boni- in pieces, and it turned out great. I can't wait to make this for my friends.

Chicken Enchilada Slow Cooker Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2013
This was really tasty. I followed the ingredients exactly and the only thing I changed was cooking (time crunch) which meant I cooked on high for 3 hours and then switched to low for another hour or so after that. It tasted even better the day after, and for two people this was dinner for 4 days! Thanks for sharing!

My Favorite Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2012
I made this recipe for Christmas dinner and I really liked it. I will say, however, that I wish it had been creamier even though I made this specifically because it didn't use cream of mushroom soup. I think that I will omit the flour and add perhaps a cup of vegetable broth (or less) to the sour cream to add some creamy-ness. I don't think the flour added anything useful for me (I omitted the mushrooms, so perhaps the lack of liquid from them makes a difference with the flour). Used fresh, steamed beans and felt that this was very healthy. Thankyou for sharing!

Pork Tenderloin with Dijon Marsala Sauce

Reviewed: May 3, 2012
Really great and simple meal that looks super fancy. I was afraid that browning the pork tenderloin medallions would dry them out after baking, but they stayed tender and juicy! Sauce is amazing! A simple meal for entertaining (I added roasted asparagus and mashed potatoes) and fairly easy to make.

Garlic Broccoli

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2012
Yes! Finally a great way to serve broccoli! I always steam the broccoli until just tender before placing it in the marinade. This keeps the broccoli crisp but soft enough to eat without working real hard at it.

Blue Bacon Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2012
I made these for a baby shower, and they were a hit! I couldn't find large mushrooms in the store so I used normal ones, and I had waayyy too much filling left over. Not a bad thing, really, as I just used the leftover filling to stuff some pork chops with! Great appetizer, just fancy enough to be impressive in any crowd.

White Wine Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2011
This is so good! I followed the ingredients and directions closely, but I added garlic, sliced yellow squash, and fresh rosemary and waited an hour before adding the potatoes so they wouldn't turn to mush. I also used smoked chicken breast that I had left over from a cookout- yum! This will be a great winter meal.

Magical Dressing

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2011
I've pretty much stopped buying salad dressing, because I use this recipe exclusively. I leave out the lemon pepper- there's already lemon juice- and I throw in a pinch of red pepper flakes for a small zip. I've also tried it with a hint of garlic, but either way, the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, and lemon juice are all you need for the best dressing. Thanks for sharing, Laura!

Chicken Honey Mustard Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2011
What a great twist on traditional pot pie. I had a 9 inch frozen pie crust on hand that I used for the bottom layer, and made a quick top crust using a simple recipie I found on this website. I agree with others that it could have used a little more filling- next time I'll use two cups of frozen veggies instead of one. I also didn't have cornstartch on hand, but a simple roux (flour and water) thickened up the sauce nicely. I think this is a new favorite for me.

Apple and Sausage Cornbread Stuffing

Great recipe! I took the advice of others and used a can of chicken broth, and I also threw in a handful of sun dried tomatoes to the mushroom mixture towards the end to add some more flavor. Will make again!

Spiced Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2010
What a great tasting roast! I had to change a few ingredients, simply because I didn't have them all. I used craisins and dried apricots instead of raisins, and I used pepper jelly instead of chutney becuase my local grocery stores don't carry chutney, and I threw in carrots, celery, and a potato for the last hour and a half of cooking. Dutch oven cooking is the way to go, the roast was so tender and was falling apart- very good cold weather meal!

Asian Lettuce Wraps

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2013
This was fantastic! I did not have any sesame oil, but I did have fresh (frozen) ginger root, and I think that it made up the flavor difference. I also used ground turkey, and it was lean and tasty! I will make this a favorite!

Spicy Cuban Mojo Chicken with Mango-Avocado Salsa

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2015
I just made this last night and it was fantastic. I didn't have a red Chile pepper on hand, so I used three chipotles chiles in adobo sauce that I had on hand for the marinade. I also used about a teaspoon of margarine instead of the amount of butter called for, and while the sauce never really thickened it still had a great flavor. I can't wait to make this again, although I may decrease the sugary stuff a bit for the husband as he doesn't like sweet meats... Thanks for sharing.

Brussels Sprouts in a Sherry Bacon Cream Sauce

Super tasty- however, as others have mentioned, drain off the majority of bacon grease before adding shallot (or in my case onion) and garlic. Otherwise, very good.

Yummy Lemon Salmon Burgers

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2015
Yes, very tasty! I didn't find the flavor to be overwhelmingly fishy or too citrus rich. I didn't have any parsley on hand so I substituted dill and it seemed to be fine. I like rich flavor so I may do another shake or two of red pepper next time. I cooked them on my George Foreman grill and it was very easy to clean and healthier than frying.

Cheesy Zucchini Casserole I

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2011
This was better than I thought it would be. I added a few extra ingredients- can of diced tomatoes and some chopped green olives. I forgot the egg, but I don't know that it mattered. I think adding ground turkey or pork would turn this into a tasty entree.

Baked Parmesan Tilapia

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2015
Just made this tonight, and overall it was a good recipe. I admit that I omitted a few herbs and spices from the breading mix since it seemed like they would just begin to override each other at a certain point, but otherwise I followed instructions exactly. I'm not sure what added flavored the milk/ranch mixture gave so I may use just milk in the future. I love breaded fish, and other reviews to place fish on an oil sprayed cooling rack on top of the baking sheet were spot on- the whole fillet was crispy this way. I will make this again and may cut out just a spice or two but I like it well enough!!!

Chicken and Dumplings III

Really good! I only changed a few things, like adding some carrots, and using 1/4 cup milk and 1/4 cup cream to make it creamier. I also put some dried parsley in the dough mixture. Can't wait to make this again!
