Garlic Broccoli

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2011
This is okay, but I thought the vinegar taste was overpowering. I tried it with the vinegar indicated in the recipe and with other kinds as suggested by reviewers. I also tried cutting the amount of vinegar way down. However, I only really like this recipe if I omit the vinegar altogether.

Tart Lemon Triangles

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2011
This is not bad. The first time I made it I followed the advice of some other reviewers and doubled the filling, but that was a mistake. The second time I followed the recipe exactly and it was better.

Squash Dip

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2011
I really like butternut squash and I love goat cheese, but for some reason I did not love this dip. Maybe b/c I like a dip to be sort of salty and the squash made this sweet. It wasn't bad, just not the dip for me.

Sweet Potato Apple Scallop

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2010
I doubled the topping b/c it didn't seem like enough. I might consider baking with tin foil next time to keep it moist as it cooks.

Stuffed Shells I

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2010
This is a pretty good recipe. I think it needs more sauce. I used ricotta cheese.

Lemon Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2010
Delicious. I used lemon cake mix like most of the reviewers. Baked in 9x13 pan for max time. For the frosting I substituted a packet of lemon kool aid for the lemon extract and instead of whipped topping I whipped my own cream without adding sugar.

Cabbage and Kielbasa

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2009
Very good. Used 2 Tbsp olive oil instead of 1/2 cup margarine. 1/2 cup water seemed like too much.

Sweet Potato Corn Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2009
This is a great corn bread recipe and a wonderful way to get my son to eat sweet potatoes. I halved the recipe and baked in a 9x9 for a little less time.

Polish Style Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2009
This is kind of an unusual combo, but I like it. I added shredded cheddar to the potatoes as another reviewer suggested. I used real potatoes. I also used more onions for the topping as someone else suggested.

Sean's Falafel and Cucumber Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2009
I love these. I baked them at 425 for 20 min on one side and 8 min on the other as another reviewer suggested. I wouldn't like them as much without the sauce; I'm glad the falafel and sauce are both part of the recipe.

Acorn Squash Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2009
This is a good soup. Next time I may use a little less chicken broth and sub plain water; I thought the chicken flavor overpowered a little. I didn't have onion or celery, but thought it was good without.

Chunky Potato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2009
This is the best potato soup I've ever had. The Swiss cheese is a nice addition. I didn't have celery or onion, but it didn't need it.

Simple Baked Apples

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2009
These aren't bad, but if I make it again I will use less cloves and sugar and omit the flour. The cloves were a little overpowering and it just didn't need that much sugar for my taste. The flour seemed completely useless; it just clumped up in little gummy blobs around the apples.

Apricot Carrot Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2009
I love this recipe. Not too much sugar or fat. I use a combination of wheat flour, oat flour and flax seed instead of all white flour, and I use real eggs instead of substitutes. If you're looking for a really sweet carrot bread, this isn't for you, but I like it for what it is.

Classic Lasagna

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2009
This was pretty good. I think I might use more mozzarella next time and top with some more Parmesan. I used canned sauce and added zucchini, broccoli and cauliflower to the sauce.
