Italian Sausage Soup with Tortellini

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2011
Very good. I used turkey sausage to make it healthier. I found that not much sausage was needed to infuse the flavor throughout the soup.

Indian Tomato Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2011
Very, very good. I used about 1.5 chicken breasts, but next time I'll use 2. Super healthy and I served it over brown rice with spices! Yum. Medium spicey-ness. Serve with yogurt if too spicey.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2010
This is amazing. I don't like fish, so this dish is perfect for me. the tangyness of the sause and t he creaminess are perfect. Make sure you have a big enough pan to do the amount of fish it calls for. I also double the sause.

Heather's Healthy Oatmeal Surprises

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2009
Wow! I had to get rid of the cookies because my husband and I were eating them ALL THE TIME! They are amazing. You can't tell that they are whole wheat. We added softened raisins instead of chocolate chips. It was wonderful. They would be great with dried fruits and nuts. Next time I make them, I am bringing them to a party. They are definetly tasty enough to bring and that way, my hubby and I won't eat all of them ourselves. I did have to add a little more flour than the recipe called for. Could be because of the wet raisins, or the dryness of my whole wheat flour.

Chocolate Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2009
This is an awesome recipe! I have tried several other chocolate frosting recipes and they were either too sugary or bitter. The cream cheese keeps it from being too sweet (doesn't taste like confectioners sugar) and gives it an amazing texture. I used melted baker's chocolate, and it was great in this recipe. I'll be using this for many cakes to come.

Buttermilk Pancakes II

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2008
the batter was stunning! It tasted better than any box mix I have ever done. After I cooked them, I found that they didn't have the strong flavor that the batter had. They were fluffy, and the recipe was HUGE. I probably won't make these again, unless I figure something out.

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2008
These were amazing cookies! We added chocolate chips and a little vanilla. I found that the chocolate chips took away from the peanut butter flavor. I prefered the ones with barely any chips. Other people mentioned the amount of salt in it. Yes, there is a lot of salt, and it probably could be less, but the salt added to the peanut butter taste and helped the flavors stand out. We will be making this recipe with choco. chips and without in the future.

Cajun Spicy Potato Wedges

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2008
Yum! This was excellent. I loved all the flavors in it. I messed up, bc I mixed all the ingredients together. That means that the spices were more of a liquid, so they didn't stick as well. I will be doing this recipe again soon. UPDATE: I did this again, and found that despite all the spices, it wasn't amazing. When I did it correctly, I found that the spices caked on the potatoes. I think that a reduction in the "spicy" spices, would allow the other ones to stand out. Also, there is no salt in the recipe.

German Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2008
That was a very, very good cake! It did cost a bit because of all the special items (coconut, evaporated milk, german chocolate). Very tasty. I've never had an official German Chocolate cake, so I can't compare, but it tasted great. I stuck the cakes in the freezer until they were stiff enough to deal with. Hint: The frosting has to cool A LOT before you can use it. I had it in the fridge for an hour before it was stiff enough.

Oven Potato Wedges

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2008
This recipe was good, however I didn't feel that it was "amazing." Next time, I will chop the onions and garlic a lot smaller, because otherwise the chunks fall off while baking and turning in the oven.

Buttermilk Biscuits I

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2008
These were awesome biscuits! Even the dough was tasty! I didn't have the self-rising flour, so used extra baking powder and salt. Very tasty. My husband loved them too! Next time, I will leave out about half the sugar, and flour the counter better. The dough was insanely sticky, so I ended up just using my hands. Very, very good.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2008
The cinnamon rolls were good however not 5 star. I have never had a cinnabon, so I cannot honestly compare it to that. I did roll out the dough thinner to make smaller rolls, as well as more rolls. They were good, and I might make again if I can't find another cinnamon roll recipe, however I will keep on looking. Once again, they were good, but not excellent.

Zucchini Brownies

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2008
The brownies were good, but not amazing. My husband liked them more than I did. I followed the recipe exactly, and they came moist, but not really fudge-like. I made them a second time and substituted yogurt for half of the oil. They were a little heavier (not as cake-like) and healthier. I froze the brownies in little baggies for lunches and discovered that they are much better frozen. In any case, I probably won't make these again unless I have tons of zucchinis to use up.
